Good power and still easy to handle.
This unit replaced a heavy duty drill I had for over 30 years that I could no longer get needed parts for. The very first job I used it for was to drill a 2 1/8 inch hole in an 2 inch oak board. It handle this with no problem. I can’t see how you could beat this tool for the price.

Needed a power drill
My old corded drill lasted 20 years. If finally gave up. The B&D has not only replaced the old drill, but has increased capabilities. I wanted a corded drill because I never felt that the cordless provided enough power.

black and decker dr560 1/2″ drill.
I was very pleased with this drill. It has power all through the rpm range. The other I had bought had no power unless they were run full rpm. This drill is the best 1/2″ drill I’ve had in years. Well worth the money.

Powerful and inexpensive product
I was moving into my own place and needed a handy but inexpensive solution for, well, drilling things.I wanted a corded 7.0-amp-or-stronger drill, and this definitely fits the bill. The front handle, while plastic and possibly able to slip, is easily adjustable and can be made premanently fixed via several solutions. I’ve never had any problem with it staying firmly in place.I’ve used this to drill through wood and metal and it’s always reliable. It’s reliably powerful and a great buy as far as I have experienced.Pros..price.build quality.added adjustable grip.power.1/2 inch.7 amps!Cons..plastic handle could feel cheap

Ok for homeowner use
Drill worked well but plastic screw on handle is a little cheap and did not really seat in place well. For the homeowner like me it is fine but not for every day use. I would suggest looking into a used one from Amazon then the price is worth the product.

This is a fantastic bargain. I do a lot of doweling and I use a 3 1/4″ forstner bit in walnut and this drill does a great job. I did not use the chuck key because I find the chuck holds the bits tightly holding the chuck and tightening the bit by hand.

Very nice drill that does the job. It is variable speed with reverse as well so it can be used in just about any situation where you need to do some drilling or screwing.

Great for mixing mortar
Purchased for mixing mortar for tile. Such a lifesaver. The first time I did a tile job I mixed the mortar by hand every time. Sore arms, smaller batches. This was a great tool to have with a paddle attachment for mixing.

B&D 1/2 in. 7.0 amp Drill/Driver
I like the B&D drill. It’s a bit heavy for me as I’m 72 yro. It’s a good drill and I do like the B&D products. My last B&D drill lasted 30 yrs, I’d say I got my money’s worth. I might try using it without the handle, that might lighten it up a bit. I love tools and love to build things. I still have my B&D skill saw, and that to is 30 yro and working fine.

Powerful Corded Drill w/ Excellent Controls & Feels — For Those Left Wanting More Than What Can Be Provided by Cordless Drills
Great Drill. MAJOR upgrade from all the wireless drills that I’ve purchased in the past.Pros:1) Very powerful.2) Excellent Grip and Control (Both the Grip handle and side handle)3) Subjective I know but.. to me this damn drill is very good looking. Every time I’ve used it I just marvel at how rugged yet well made it looks and feels.Cons:1) Price — I just wish that it was a bit cheaper. Cant beat the Amazon Pricing tho…so I don’t feel like I paid too much but I do wish that I could have paid a bit less..Great Drill. Loving it Thus Far!

Drills the $%^ out of things! Needs extension cord!
Yeah! Drilly McDriller the Drill was awesome for drilling things. And screwing screws. I didn’t have to throw it on the floor and try doing it by hand even once!!! Beautifully powerful. So fun to use a tool that makes things easier. The only downside is that the cord is super short. If you don’t have an extension cord for power tools, don’t buy this one without also buying a cord. I don’t recall exactly how long it was but it was maybe only 5-6′ long, which means that if you’re standing up to use it (and you probably will), you have to be *right next to* the outlet.I am not a professional contractor. I just drill things around the house and yard, but this is an awesome tool that I suspect could be used on the job.

B&D All the Way
You just can’t go wrong with Black & Decker tools. I have an old 3/8″ drill that is still running fine but getting to the end of it’s life and it became a problem when I needed a 1/2″ drill. There is also the problem that it is either on or off. The great thing about this B&D is the ability to slightly pull the trigger and the drill will turn very slowly to allow much better starts with a greatly reduced chance of the bit spinning off the mark when you need to be precise. Lots of power and the adjustable front handle is great with its clamp on style, you can quickly rotate the handle to put it on or take it off and if you need to adjust the angle again, quick and easy with a quick turn of the hand, you adjust the angle and another quick turn locks it down again. I highly recommend this product.

I had a Black and Decker 7.0 Amp drill that I used for years. It took unbelievable punishment until the brushes wore out. I called a repair service company with intentions of having it repaired. The service rep informed me that I could purchase a new one for what it would cost me to get this one repaired. So acknowledging good advice I purchased this one and it is just as tough as the first one. If you want a powerful drill without emptying your wallet this is it.

Great Power, too much noise
I had a cheap 3amp black and decker drill that has served me well over the years. Today I was trying to mix some drywall mud to texture the ceilings in a rental property of mine. The cordless was not an option, and my 3.0 amp almost did ok for a few minutes, but then smoked and died. I ran to the score and picked up this 7 amp model with the additional handle for extra control, and WOW what a difference. It mixed up the mud with ease and seemed to have power to spare. The one negative thing I did notice right away, it was very very loud. Overall I like B&D stuff. Most things I have purchased have lasted a long time and run great. I will never be a cool handy man with all DeWalt stuff, but I will have a few extra benjamins in my wallet.

Poor Chuck Key Location
I bought this drill to replace an ancient (from the 70’s man) B&D that was having some internal issues. This one is lighter and more ergonomic friendly. No issues, good drill for the price. I don’t like where the chuck key is kept as it has to be taken out of a little rubber holder – I don’t see this holding up very long. I will probably “zip strip” the key to the middle of the cord where I can use the key easier (like my old B&D.

Different but same
This drill has incredible torque under slow RPM’s. I had an old black and decker 1/2″ drill made from metal that was forged in the fires of a great mountain. Over the years, it took a beating. Unfortunately, I was drilling a hole in a hard to get to piece of steel and allowed the drill to drift sideways…snapping the main shaft right in half. Apparently, the scroll that came with the drill was not prophesying when it said, “No matter what, thy RPM will be 450.” I ordered this as its replacement. Yeah, well, it is not the drill of yore but it has done every job I have set for it. I do not like the variable speed trigger. Sometimes, when I am on top of the drill trying to move my large metal drill bit very slowly, I apply a bit to much pressure and speed the drill past what I intend. I have drilled lots of steel, soft wood, hard wood, aromatic wood and plastic and it did a wonderful job. The adjustable handle is a joke and feels like it is going to break off. It has slipped off several times when using the drill. I think a stud that allows you to screw a handle in on top and sides would be superior. That was what the older drill had and it spoiled me. It did take a few seconds to set up before each use but it was solid.

No frills, excellent at one or two basic tasks. Highly recommend.
Poured a few hundred pound of concrete, mixed with this drill 50lb at a time, excellent self-cooling motor. Last time I used a 3amp drill that cost about 2x the price and gave the motor a hot supper in no time. When I bought this it was on sale for twenty-eight USD. For the it was perfect for my singular task. Nice steel chuck, but it needs to be re-tightened more frequently than expected. This was the cheapest option for a high amp drill with a handle — almost have the HF price. General consensus from reviews is this is for slow (consistent), low impact work. If you’re going to buy the wrong tool for the job (boring holes in stone or concrete) do not expect a Hilti hammer drill. This is NOT a hammer drill.USES:Mixing concrete, mortar, paintDrilling wood beams (slowly, great torque)DO NOT USE FOR:MasonrySteel

It stays reasonably cool when mixing mortar or drilling through thick materials
This is not as powerful as I’ve used in the past, and I would not trust it to back out all 200+ pins on a grand piano rebuild (thank you Dewalt and your lifetime warranty). That said… It stays reasonably cool when mixing mortar or drilling through thick materials. Can’t beat it for the price.

I am really surprised how awesome this thing is
I am really surprised how awesome this thing is. I’ve used this real hard and it’s still working real well. The only bad thing about it is the handle. She slips off sometimes. The gripping mechanism doesn’t cause enough friction. Other than that, this thing is perfect. I am giving it five stars, even though it has the handle issue, because of it’s price. If mine broke today, I would buy this again; that’s the true test for five stars; if it broke, would you replace it with the same model? If the answer is yes, then it’s * * * * * in my book.

sturdy budget drill for big tasks
I used this to mix 72 bags of concrete with a huge mixing bit and I fully expected it to no longer drill straight once I was done. Low and behold it was still perfect and not wobbly at all for then using it to do 1000’s of screws on a deck. Tons of power, and when you need power you need a corded drill like this with the side grip for stability and this does the job for anyone who needs this for a huge project or two.

Good drill, though I thought I was getting an impact driver
So obviously I’m wrong, but I always thought this was the lingo:- Drill: attach a drill bit, make holes in stuff.- Driver: attach a screwdriver bit, set torque, drive screws.- Impact wrench: set torque, drive screws with many tiny impacts.- Hammerdrill: does a twisty and forward/backward motion.Based on that, I thought I was ordering something that would drive screws and bits to a specified torque range. Why else would this be called a drill/driver rather than just a drill? Why else would the handle have a screwdriver bit image beveled into it?Nope, this is a drill. The handle has a small place to store drill and screwdriver bits, don’t know why it would have the latter since you don’t screw things in with a drill. My fault I guess. Just fyi this is a drill.

What a beast. This is the best drill I have owned. It is extremely powerful and cuts through concrete like butter. For most regular household drilling it is overkill but if you need the power, this thing is what you want. For the money, you cannot beat it. It is better than other drills I paid twice as much for.

Works great..
Works great….I bought it for the Lumberjack Tenon cutter kit and even though the kit stresses a single speed drill 500 rpm, this drill is a variable speed (up to 900 rpm) and it will work. You must be careful when using this drill because it’s rpm is higher than recommended….I just tried to be careful not to go full speed and I was able to cut tenons ok! It can be dangerous though if you hit a hard spot (so can the 500 rpm drill). BE CAREFUL!

Excellent value for home use drill
I love this drill! I purposely got one with a lower RPM rating as I intend to use it primarily for drilling wood and driving screws. I wanted the lower RPM for better control at low speeds for driving screws, and it this drill met my expectations perfectly. Haven’t really stressed it on any heavy duty jobs, but feel that it’s an excellent value for use around the home.

Now this IS A DRILL! Love this!
I have had a 12V cordless and an old electric drill my dad gave me for the last 5 years during a home rennovation – seems like the battery drill was forever not lasting long enough, even after a new battery and the other one required specific pressure to engage the rotation.THIS ONE IS AWESOME. I can use my smaller drill bits with it as well as the larger, I like the easy on and easy off secondary handle for accurate drilling in walls in particular. This is going to be my favorite for a long time I’m sure, I certainly hope this one lasts. IT IS PERFECT for both big and small jobs.

Excellent tool, best buy for the money
This is the best drill you can buy for the money. My last Black & Decker drill just now broke after 15 years. The switch broke, but the motor was just as strong as ever. To put it in perspective, I have 6 drills (counting 4 cordless), 2 of which are 1/2 inch capacity Black & Decker units purchased 15 years ago in Walmart. The other one is still working and that must be some kind of record. This newer drill does not have a hammer switch on top, but the only place I ever used that was to drill holes in concrete with masonry bits. If you do a lot of that, it probably is not the best choice. This drill is very strong and delivers a lot of torque so it isn’t what you need for light duty jobs. You need a strong arm and good grip as you would for any drill built to deliver maximum power (no adjustable slip clutch) and it can twist your arm if you don’t time the release or reduction in power to coincide with the end of the drive/drill cycle. I drive a lot of torx (star) head T-20 and T-25 deck screws using a magnetic bit holder and drill holes with bits up to a foot long and use a lot of spade bits for holes up to 1-1/2 inches. If you don’t back off in a timely manner, the screws will sink too deep. I don’t pamper my tools and I much prefer a keyed chuck like this drill has for better holding power and durability. If you can’t afford more than 1 drill you will spend extra time working the chuck key while swapping bits out.It is a little noisier than some drills because of the straight cut gear reduction, but this also reduces amperage flow at low speeds and increases motor life. The redesigned gear reduction system is probably the main difference in this drill and my 2 older ones. Hopefully it will last as long as the one it replaced. The cord insulation is softer and more pliable than the old units which makes it a little easier to manipulate in tight places in cold weather. This is an excellent choice for workloads which drain batteries on a cordless drill. Even my best cordless drills will drain 2 batteries on a hard day. This drill will do the same amount of work as my best cordless drills but you have to drag an extension cord around which is physically a little harder than lifting the extra weight of the battery on a cordless. That’s the trade off.I don’t know of any line of tools that delivers as much bang for the buck as Black & Decker. Recommended.

A nice amount of torque
This is a good powerful driver that I use mostly for driving long screws. It doesn’t seem to spin up as fast as a few of my older B&D drills, so I use my older ones for drilling holes. The variable speed on this seems to vary all the way from really slow to moderately slow. However, this has torque for days and is really great for that purpose. I didn’t attach the side handle, I really don’t like them, it works well without. For the price I think this a pretty good addition to the toolbox.I’m knocking a star off for 3 reasons – 1) the limited maximum RPM’s, 2) I’ve gotten used to the keyless chucks on my other drills, and it slows me down having a keyed chuck on this, 3) The forward/reverse switch is backwards from what I am used to, I don’t know whether my other drills are aberrent, or this one is, but that bugs me sometimes using this drill

Powerful drill that is small and light
I used the BLACK+DECKER 7.0 Amp 1/2 in. Electric Drill/Driver Kit (DR560) to bore 1″ holes through 2X10 joists. It has plenty of power and it is compact enough to fit where I needed it to go. Way better than my old B & D drill becuase it has similar power, but is smaller and lighter.
Wallybee –
Black & Decker drill/driver DR560
I specially like the feature of speed variation, it helps when you have drill a hole and need to center the bit on the spot. The drill is powerful and sits well in your hand. Because the handle is centered it very ergodynamic and balances well for doing a project. The reverse switch tends to get knocked out of position easily and this can cause the drill not to function normally. I am looking to enjoy working with this tool for a long time.

Great drill, great tool maker
I use the drill to power a honey extractor so it gets some very heavy duty use. I needed a 1/2 inch drill with lots of torque (moves some heavy honey supers in a rotating metal cage) and the ability to spin free when you released the trigger. Works great.I once was a Black and Decker non believer but they have completely won me over with the quality of their tools.I love their 20v lithium battery line. Not a lemon in the bunch.

The right tool for the task at hand.
This is an excellent drill. But you need to pay attention to what you are drilling, it is not recommended for steel or concrete.I was drilling wood with an auger bit, my 1/4 inch drill motor did not have enough torque, it would bind. It was a new bit so I was sure that was not the problem. This drill drilled over 100 holes with the same bit in less than two hours. I spent more time putting wood into my work table clamp than I did drilling. The flutes on the auger could have been longer and would have made the job faster, but having the ability to reverse the direction of rotation allowed for easy chip removal and saved me from having to purchase a bit with a longer set of flutes. The price was right, it comes with a 2 year warranty and registering the warranty is fast and easy.Would I buy it again? Sure, after the warranty runs out. I have used B&D products for years, I have never had any issues with any of them.

For the price and the power, this is a great deal. The only complaint I might have is that the grip for the other hand can get loose pretty easily, thus jerking your arm unexpectedly. I’ve tried to mitigate this in a few ways, but it still happens occasionally.

Hole in One
A tough job made easy is why a power tool like this makes the price paid for it worthwhile. This tool is powerful enough to get the work done without worry and time lost trying to make a less powerful drill do the job. I am very happy to have it in my workshop. It arrived ahead of the delivery date which was a bonus to the quality tool.

Always like B&D tools
Always like B&D tools. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 is the mechanism to hold the handle to the body is difficult to keep fully clamped if there is a lot of vibration. I abandoned it when using the drill with a 2″ auger to plant bulbs in heavy clay soil and it works just fine. My first 2 B&D drills had a side handle that screwed in to the body.

I’m very happy with this drill
I bought this drill for tougher tasks, the first of which was mixing quikrete. In 10 seconds, literally, I burned up my corded B&D Matrix drill (BDEDMT) trying to mix quikrete in a bucket with a mortar mixing bit. So I came back to Amazon for, literally, the cheapest 1/2″ drill I could find with the understanding that there was a 50% chance that I’d burn this one up too.Well it handled the ten 80lb bags of concrete mixing with aplomb. I’m very happy with this drill.

I was very pleased with this drill. It has power all through the rpm range. The other I had bought had no power unless they were run full rpm. This drill is the best 1/2″ drill I’ve had in years. Well worth the money.

Gret Drill
Found this one on Amazon as a replacement for my old drill–the AC cord was old ass the cost for replacement parts was almost equal to this new drill. This B&D drill has a long cord with attachment for the chuck key. I did test it as it worked well. Great find delivered to my front door without a sotre witch hunt!

Works well but this thing is big
Works well and is powerful.Sometimes I find it too big/long if I have a screw/drill something smaller (e.g. the inside of a 1 feet by 1 feet box). Get a smaller one unless you know you are going to need the power.Don’t loose the chuck key!

I like It!
I had to order it twice, because this one is shipped via USPS. They claimed to have tried to deliver the first one at a time that I was home.I have never before owned a drill with this much power. The tiny project on which i initiated it almost became a do-over. I nearly drilled the small phillips head screws THROUGH the wood.I bought this to supplement my 18v rechargeable, which loses power with my increased use around the house, and forces me to stop work to recharge the battery. Replacement batteries are simply way too expensive, so I went back to good ol’ CORDED!I could not be happier – and the handle, made of sturdy plastic, comes off very easily, so you have the option of normal and heavy duty/

DUE TO MY OWN NEGLIGENCE, I forgot to check the voltage. Needed 220v but instead got 110v.But this is my fault, and since it works properly, I’ve given it 5 stars. It’s a lot more comfortable than my old drill, especially with the removable stability handle.Packaging was standard as with all my other Black and Decker items.

Better than I truly expected
I am an old guy and for most of my life I have know of B&D as a low cost, low quality product that one wouldn’t use unless he had too. But, I have recently purchased B&D small, battery drill and I have been most impressed. I use my corded drills in heavy applications and I had a B&D before and wore it out so I bought a much more expensive drill with a much better name and it was no better at all. So, I bought another B&D to replace that one. Honestly the B&D is at least as good and in many cases better than any other drill I have owned. The speed control actually allows one to control the speed of a large drill as is needed. I won’t be buying any high price, name brand drills again.

Has performed great so far. I’ve used mine to drill about 180 5/16″ holes using a 12 in drill bit. My only complaint is that the auxiliary handle can slip off it’s perch after a while. I found myself re-tightening it several times.

It worked great on the project
I needed to drill about 40 holes that were 4.5″ in diameter (via hole saw) through a 3/4″ thick piece of plywood for a school festival item for my kid. The old cordless drill I owned didn’t have enough power for the task. I didn’t want to spend a fortune on a corded drill that I would need at most once a year around the home. As such, I bought this based on the price point at the store (most inexpensive one they had).It worked great on the project. It’s got a lot of low end torque. For an occasional use corded drill as a homeowner, I find this to be more than adequate for me needs. The stores had drills that were three and four times more expensive than this. Maybe that would make sense as a contractor. For me as a homeowner, this Black and Decker is just fine.

The Black and Decker name still means quality and an excellent price/performance ratio (thanks, guys)
Really amazing tool for the price. I’ve used it on wood, metal and concrete (6″ deep… easy as pie). This is the first impact drill I’ve owned and I couldn’t be happier. Ignore the review that complained about speed. The speed is variable (maybe his was stuck on low)… at maximum speed it is for the most part a little too fast for my use (how much of a hurry am I in, really)… and I drilled (64) 5/8″ holes 6″ deep in concrete in no more than ten seconds per! Faster than that is probably dangerous I’m thinking.

Perfect drill, great price.
Fantastic drill I bought my first drill (also Black-and-Decker) when I was about 20 years old. Am now 60 and it just gave out. So, this is the one I decided upon. Very hefty, very strong motor, like the handle to steady it and keep it going straight. Great torque. Love how it has the built-in holder up near the drill for the chuck key.

Very powerful drill
Not too big either. I have small hands and some drills are just too big. This one is great. It drives screws into very hard old wood with no problems. Doesn’t wear me out or rattle me to death. I don’t feel it in my joints for hours after like some tools. I’m rewiring my garage and putting up loads of shelves in the garage and basement and this is just perfect.

Very surprised, good DIY product
The first time I came across this drill was at the local depot. I was thinking about getting a mid handle 1/2 drill, and to be honest did not even think to look at B&D. The majority of my power tools are Makita, Dewalt, Milwaukee, or Bosch. I tend to not stick with one brand since I prefer to get the best tool for the job at hand. I picked up the DR560 and was very surprised at how solid and well balanced it felt. This was much better quality then I have come to expect from B&D. Once I saw the price was less than half that of the other drills, I figured I would give it a shot. The price was low enough that if I can complete one task with it, it was worth the purchase. The first thing you need to know right off the bat is that this is not a hammer drill. All those folks trying to use it as such are a little confused. Yes it has a handle for stabilization but thats it. The handle was not meant to be used to apply additional weight or force. Also the RPM range is low for a professional; but for a DIY’er the range is perfectly acceptable. This drill will drive screws and bots into wood without a problem. It can drill holes in wood or metal. I would not use this for concrete or brick. I have a much heavier (and more expensive) 1/2 Dewalt hammer for that. The B&D DR560 will do the majority of what is needed for the average homeowner. Never thought I would say it, B&D really made a decent low cost drill. The DR560 is a nice addition to any tool box.

Lots of power, easy to use
I love this drill. We had a rechargeable drill that never seemed to have enough power. I hated having to recharge it and of course it was never charged when we needed it. So I bought this and do not regret it. Some tools aren’t meant to be rechargeable, and this is one of them. This tool has a lot of power behind it. It’s easy to use – as a woman – I’ve used this drill a few times and find it simple to use.

GOOD DRILL WEAK AUX HANDLE
Let’s have the bad first. The auxiliary handle is very poorly designed, it slips and slides off no matter how right you make it. Given the torque this drill has you need it. The good is this drill is powerful and tough. Drilling 2.5 inch holes 4 inches deep in hard pine barely warms it up. Other than the weak handle this is a really good product.

Pretty good drill
This was a pretty good traditional drill at an economical price. I also own the previous model which developed a problem with the switch. This one works better but does not seem to have the same feel as the earlier model. Nonetheless I have been able to get good results with it. I had no problem using it with 1/16 inch tiny drill bits. The chuck key gears are not as precise as I would like.

Good drill for the price
I got this on sale and for the price it is a pretty awesome drill. Had to drill holes in steel supports for a derby combine and really pushed the drill hard – lots of slow, high pressure drilling – it started to smoke by end of day 2. It still works but I am sure I shortened its life, but I really abused it, so I don’t think it is a flaw. The biggest issue is the front handle cannot attach firmly and you would think that a handle to be used to pushing something really hard, you would want it to be a little more firm. There was more than one time it slipped off and I was lucky not to hurt my hand – I would give it 5 stars if it could attach better.

Black & Decker DR560 1/2-Inch 7.0 Amp Drill/Driver
Seems very solid and has the 1/2 inch metal chuck (vs plastic) that I wanted. I was looking for something a little stronger should I want to bore a hole in the fence post or some heavier metal. This will fill the need when the cordless just can’t get the job done. I don’t know how much I will use the extra handle as it is plastic and just wraps around the front of the drill. It may provide some stability but I am unsure about placing any force on it.

Had problems,but
Got the drill to drill thru some 1” oak bds with a 3/4” bit. The first holes went fine but on the fourth hole the drill slowed and seemed to lose power. After that it would run but no power. Contacted Amazon, they provided a return shipping label with UPS picked it up at my door AND I was sent a new drill which I recieved before I sent the damaged one back. You talk about service!! I buy a fair amount from Amazon and will continue with service like that and recommend them to anyone. The drill is very good but Amazon is excellent.

I can tell I’m going to like this plug in much better than the rechargable battey type that just never seemed to have any umph. I like the hand grip — I bought this drill to use with a mixing attachment for stirring and mixing glazes at my school’s high school studio. Mixed up three 5 gallon glazes in no time and it was easy to control the speed. My only problem is that it’s made in China and I tried so hard to find out where it was made before I bought it. I know that B+D manufactures some models in China but I was hoping this was made here.

Good basic drill
I have had this drill many years and it always served me well. I bought it after getting tired of postponing my work because of discharged batteries of some cheapo cordless drill I bought at Sears. For not depending on batteries and having much more power you will pay with convenience but saying honestly, If you are not a roofer of some one who uses the drill all the time during the day every day you rarely need a cordless option. However mine came with a significant shortcoming. I am not sure if that was just mine or it is a common problem. The chuck wobbled so much that the bit would deviate from its axis by 5 mm or so. Because of that it is really hard to start drilling unmarked holes or putting screws in the wood.Oh, as many already said the side detachable handle is just a piece of plastic that you must tighten arond the front of the drill. It is hardly usable.

This drill has saved ALL of my indoor projects. The drill is a little heavy, probably why the second grip is offered, in order to handle the load.I have used a 10″ bit to a stock 1/4″ bit and I Love this drill! The key is made of metal, hooks to bottom of unit.It hasn’t disappointed me yet, in pre drilling holes……I do wish this came with a carrier for the drill. In the big box stores, all drills come with a case or bag.I recommend this drill for daily usual use….. I’m not sure if this drill is up to bigger jobs, I have not used the drill for heavy jibs….

Good power, easy to handle
I really like this drill. I use it for drilling holes in sheets of metal. With the extra grip handle, you can get good control that I have not had using other drills. Having the chuck key mounted right next to the grip allows for quick bit changes, which I find nice. The reverse button is easy to access and trigger motion is smooth. Good medium quality drill I expect to have for many years.

Great drill for the money. Not a counterfeit.
I bought this drill for about $22 from Amazon. I don’t think I could do better for the money. All the other $20 drills were less amperage or had smaller chucks. Also of note: Black & Decker rebranded as Black + Decker back around 2014. All the people who are saying they received a counterfeit drill are actually getting the newest model with the current branding.

Lots of Power and Torque
Received super fast. The drill works great and I really have only one complaint about it. The only thing I don’t really like is that the secondary handle will not stay securely in place when the drill binds up. I tightened the handle as tight as it would go and it still slipped out of place with me upon the drill binding up on two occasions, with it actually coming OFF the drill on a third. With the handle and the drill housing both being made of a hard slick plastic, one just can’t get it tight enough to keep from moving out of place when this powerful drill gets bound up. I placed a thin piece of rubber between the secondary handle and the housing which seems to have cured the problem, but you’d think B&D would have done figured that out long ago as I can’t be the only one who has ran into this issue. Otherwise, this is a great drill with lots of power and torque.

Good affordable power
It’s powerful, went right through 4″ studs with a 1″ spade bit. Bought it to do some work in the attic for cable runs. It got covered in blown-in insulation and kept on trucking. It also destroyed a 1′ bit extension and a right angle adapter that couldn’t handle the force. The handle sucks though. I tightened it down but within a couple minutes it was just flopping all over the place, so minus a star for that.

I love this drill
I had a 7 Amp Black & Decker drill for at least a decade, abusing it, and finally burnt it up by drilling holes through railroad ties. I bought a Dewalt 8.4 amp drill to replace it, thinking it would be stronger. It wasn’t even close. Even being halfway burnt up, my old drill still was able to power through when the Dewalt locked up and started smoking. So I went ahead and ordered this one, which was very like my old one. I started drilling and the new Dewalt locked up. I switched drills with the bit still stuck in the railroad tie and this drill took off and easily finished the job. Obviously, I am returning the Dewalt. In fact, I’m going to order another one of these just in case they stop making them.

We should have bought this the first time
Four years ago we bought the 3/8 inch drill & couldn’t use any of the larger bits with it. That drill didn’t last like it should of, either. I highly dislike battery-powered drills as the battery packs rarely last more than a year & I have to rebuild them (MUCH cheaper than buying new) & IMHO they just don’t have the get up and go like a wired drill. This Black & Decker 7.0 amp 1/2 inch drill really gets the job done. I used it as soon as it came & was delighted with the results. The stabilizing handle makes it really easy to control & keep the bit straight even when drilling through thick metal like I did.I thought about buying the higher-priced Mikita or DeWalt and I’m glad I didn’t. This drill is every bit as good as what I would’ve paid double for had I bought the other two brands.

Pleased with this drill/driver
This has become my ‘go-to’ device for screwing. I bought it primarily because of the low RPM capability (high torque) and have not been disappointed. I am working my way off the endless treadmill of buying replacement batteries for cordless tools. The ‘key-style’ chuck is not a problem – I keep a quick release driver holder chucked in the drill so bit changes are tool-less.

Good quality drill
Good quality drill. I put it through hell right away, drilling through terracotta for a project. Turns out the terracotta had some metal in the middle of it, which presented a challenge. But this drill was stable enough (love the handle) and strong enough to get the job done without breaking the surface. This drill is excellent for standard home projects.
