Easy way to get protein into childs diet

If you’ve got a young school age child that only likes to eat about 12 items and you’re worried about their protein intake, this is an easy way to sneak in some protein. My daughter says it tastes like chocolate milk. You do have to shake pretty vigorously to try to get all the clumps out.

Vanilla is Yoo sweet to me

It is great. Easy to blend. Vanilla too sweet. People say double chocolate is the best. I wish they had unflavored one.

The best protein you can get

This protein always blends smooth, the taste is bearable, and it gives the nutrition you need.

  8. Aunque el sabor puede ser un poco simple, resulta muy util, cumple con sus espectativas anunciadas. Lo unico que tarda al menos en mi caso una semana en notar un leve aumento de energía.

    Delicious!

Ordered the vanilla ice cream flavor and it soooo good! Even my picky daughter, who eats nothing, is currently drinking a spinach, chia seed, strawberry, almond milk smoothie with this powder. And loving it. Finally found a way to get some protein in her!!! I’ll be trying more flavors for sure!

    Good protein powder

It’s good. I mix it with water for a quick shot of protein. It mixes pretty well with just a spoon. And the flavor is fine. Or I add it to plain Greek yogurt which makes the yogurt sweeter and gives flavor. I mix it with all kinds of stuff. Been doing protein shakes for 20+ yrs. Tried various brands. I used to do chocolate but I’ve become sensitive to it, and vanilla mixes better with different flavors anyway.

Quality protein but Strawberry flavor is not good

Love the brand and quality, but I usually get the vanilla. Thought I would try the strawberry, but it is awful. I can’t even finish it. I have had about 4 servings and can’t stomach it. I hate that I wasted all the money on this, but it makes me nauseous. I will stick to the vanilla from now on.

Nutrition profile is good – a bit too sweet for me

I like the nutrition profile and its ease of blending.I did find it a touch too sweet for me, and while it is good as a protein shake and in smoothies, I cannot use it for other things that I did with my old (discontinued) protein powder, due to the excessive sweetness. I think most people tolerate sweet things well, so this may not be an issue for you.

    The taste is great..

I have buying this product “O.N.G.S 100% Whey Double Chocolate” for some time now.. I add it in my hot oatmeal or I blend it with my fruit in my smoothies or I just drink it with cold water after shaking.. The one thing I have noticed is when mixing it with plain cold water and after shaking it a few times it doesn’t blend well/dissolve well the way it use too.. I’m not sure it they have added a different ingredient ow what.. But when I do get my package from Amazon the product is inside of a brown taped up Amazon box and the lid is sealed with a tight black seal around the lid but I wish they had a cover seal on the inside of the lid as well.. I have noticed that the price has gone up on the Whey Protein Powder but I guess we can all say all food everywhere has skyrocketed.. I like it and will purchase again..Thank You Amazon for all the great work that you & your team does..

    What Flavor to Buy

First off, I’ve purchased a bunch of different flavors of ON Gold Standard Whey. All of them have close to the same nutritional value, but they vary greatly in taste. Both my wife and I drink these protein shakes as part of our daily diet, and as a product, Optimum Nutrition is great. I’ve mixed with both milk and water, and all of the shakes mix well and don’t seem to clump. I’ve tried other manufactures whey, and I keep finding myself going back to ON for the price, nutritional value, and above all the taste. So the flavor question. As I mentioned, each flavor has a different characteristic from the others. Some are bland, some taste sweet, some taste overly fake. We loved some, and we hated some. Below is a list based on what we like so far and why. Bear in mind that I hate diet drinks for their bad aftertaste. The drinks don’t have to be sweet for me to like them, but I can’t stand the garbage aftertaste of fake sweeteners. The best flavors:Rocky Road – By far the single best tasting flavor. The downside is that it does taste a little sweet. The nutritional value is right on with the other flavors, but it is a bit sweet. I could drink this all day. If you only buy one flavor, this is it. There is no real aftertaste, and the flavor is great.Extreme Milk Chocolate – Another good flavor with almost no aftertaste. This one tastes like chocolate, and doesn’t have a fake taste to it. If you are looking at the chocolate flavors, this one is perfect.Natural Vanilla – This is a slightly different product, and it comes in a tub with yellow labeling instead of the red. It’s on Amazon for the same price, and it has the same nutritional values. They claim it has less artificial sweeteners in it, hence the natural label. In any case, this is the best vanilla out there. There is no aftertaste, and it tastes like vanilla milk. It is not as sweet as the others, but it the single best vanilla flavor I’ve found. The middle of the road flavors:Cookies and Cream – This one is both good and bad. If you like the creamy vanilla taste, you will like the flavor. It doesn’t have a bad aftertaste, but it is sort bland. It is sweet, but bland. Also, the cookie chunks in it don’t dissolve. This is the only flavor so far that has bits of stuff that you are swallowing when you drink it. It’s odd. That said, I have reordered it in the past.Chocolate Malt – It’s just OK. The flavor is a little odd because of the malt. Given the choice, just order the Extreme Milk Chocolate.Caramel Toffee Fudge – Again, just OK. They tried too hit to many flavors with this one, and it just turned out odd. Not a bad flavor, but don’t start out here. I got bored so I tried it. I doubt I’ll order it again. And the bad:Double Rich Chocolate – This flavor sucks. It tastes like fake chocolate. Not good fake chocolate, but generic fake chocolate. It has that bad aftertaste of fake sweetener, and is all around not good.Vanilla Ice Cream – Another swing and a miss. This flavor tastes like bad fake powdered milk. It has that bad aftertaste, and is probably the single worst flavor they have. If you are looking for vanilla, avoid this at all costs and get the Natural Vanilla.Tropical Punch – Another fake tasting flavor. When I got this, I could barely get through the first few shakes. Eventually it grew on me a little bit, and I was able to drink it without hating it. It tastes like strawberry milk with a bunch of fake sweetener. It’s just wrong, and is not something you want to drink after a workout.I know that taste varies from person to person, so take this with a grain of salt. I hate the taste of fake sweetener, so this list draws from that. I’ve taken to buying the 2lb tubs to try out a flavor, and then going with the 5lb tubs if I like it. It costs a bit more that way, but it means there is only 2lbs to choke down if you get a flavor that you hate.Enjoy!

    Awesome But Pricey

These have given me a boost of energy over a month use period that’s surprising to both myself and my trainer! I’ve knocked off one star simply because they’re quite pricey. Per insurrections, you’re supposed to take 3 per day and a 90 count bottle runs $20+ dollars. That’s quite a lot of money for a 1 month supply. But I’ve decided to stick with them, simply because I’ve seen good results.

Good specs and flavor but doesn’t blend the best

The calorie to protein ratio is good. The flavor is good when I put in Splenda and salt. However I mix it with a cup of milk and a few more cups of water with TWO scoops; and it’s still very liquidy and not thick. It also doesn’t blend and stay mixed as well as the Pure Protein brand powder I normally get. There doesn’t seem to be anything special about it.

    Decent flavor

I use my blender to mix this with a banana, milk, a few frozen strawberry’s and about a teaspoon of peanut butter. I have found that mix to be optimal. This with milk, or water, on it’s own lacks a little flavor.

  32. Sarah Brosam

Mixes well and the flavor is pretty good!

I bought this to use as a meal replacer for dieting as the high protein helps keep you full and it is low calorie compared to eating a 500 cal meal. The flavor is pretty good, if you’ve ever had Carnation Instant Breakfast in the chocolate flavor I would say it’s just like that only half as sweet, and as a chocolate lover I love the flavor!

Excellent product to add to smoothies

This seems to be an excellent product. The only negative I have is the artificial sweetener taste. Because of that, I don’t drink this by itself. I always add it to something else.

Helps me add lean muscle, meet my protein requirements and tastes great

Since taking Optimum Nutrition Gold Extreme Milk Chocolate after my workouts, I’ve been adding lean muscle because it helps me meet my protein requirements and keeps me satiated until breakfast the next morning. A win, win. I find that the extreme milk chocolate mixes well with water and isn’t clumpy. It also tastes great. The reason for the 4 stars is because I wish it didn’t have acesulfame potassium in it, but the ingredients are pretty solid other than that.

Delicious and Effective Option for Protein Supplementation

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein Powder in the Double Rich Chocolate flavor, and I must say, it did not disappoint. As a fitness enthusiast and someone who understands the importance of proper nutrition, I’m always looking for high-quality protein supplements, and this product certainly meets all the criteria.First and foremost, the taste is exceptional. The Double Rich Chocolate flavor is rich, smooth, and truly decadent. It easily mixes with water or milk, creating a creamy and satisfying shake that feels like an indulgence rather than a supplement. This is especially important for those who struggle with the taste of most protein powders, as it can often be a deterrent to regular use. With Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard, I actually find myself looking forward to enjoying my protein shake after a workout. But taste is not the only factor that matters when it comes to protein supplementation. The formulation of this product is also highly commendable. Each serving provides 24 grams of high-quality whey protein, which is essential for muscle recovery and growth. It is also low in fat and sugar, making it an excellent option for anyone seeking to maintain a lean physique or those watching their calorie intake. Moreover, Optimum Nutrition is known for its commitment to quality and transparency. The brand has consistently delivered products that undergo rigorous testing to ensure safety, purity, and effectiveness. This gives me peace of mind as a consumer, knowing that I am not only getting a great-tasting product but also one that is backed by science. The packaging is also noteworthy, as it conveniently comes in a two-pound container, making it easy to store and transport. And while the packaging design may vary, the contents remain of the same high standard. This consistency further adds to the credibility of the brand.Overall, I highly recommend the Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein Powder in Double Rich Chocolate flavor. It combines a delectable taste with an impressive nutritional profile, making it an effective and enjoyable choice for anyone seeking to enhance their fitness and nutrition journey

    Its A Great ProtienSuplement !

The Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein Powder seems to do a good job without too much bad stuff in it for you, and the Double Rich Chocolate flavor is good when mixed with milk and Banana.I am 56 and use it for breakfast(and as a protein boost). It works out cheaper than buying Ensure. I feel that it makes a difference ( I notice more run-down when I run out). That and my daily Muti-Vitemen keep the energy up.

    Pretty good

I saw a review online about this as an affordable protein. I opted for the pb chocolate flavor and after trying it I’m rather impressed. It’s pretty tasty, mixes well, and doesn’t leave me feeling bloated. I mixed 2 scoops in about 20 oz of water which may have been a little too much water, but it went down smooth amd mixed well after a quick 30 second shake in my mixer bottle.

    Best tasting whey I’ve had

I bought this whey powder to supplement my body with protein after working out. I’ve tried a few different flavors and brands and this is the one I like the best. I add two scoops with 600ml of water and a couple of scoops of natural peanut butter and blend it up smooth and it makes a delicious Reese’s-esque protein shake. The consistency is always pretty smooth and any solids are usually from the peanut butter so I can’t blame the protein powder on that. It foams up when mixed but I haven’t found a protein powder that hasn’t yet.The taste is really good. Some chocolate protein powders sort of have an aftertaste or kind of taste too sweet and a bit chemically. This one doesn’t really have those things and the chocolate taste works really well with peanut butter which is how I always eat it.If you like protein shakes and want to try out a chocolate flavor that isn’t too sweet or has a chemical aftertaste then try this one. Everyone is different but I found it quite pleasant.

    Banana Cream is okay

Overall quite pleased with this powder. I normally do vanilla but, after reading other reviews, decided to try the banana. It’s a very light sweet banana like flavor with a lingering aspartame like taste. I’ll probably try something different next time but it’s not bad.

Takes like Quik, which I like

Tastes like chocolate Quik powder. I usually dislike protein milk, it always has a bad aftertaste, This was good. The scoop wasn’t sitting right there on the surface and I wouldn’t want extra packaging to get it there. So get a knife and poke around. I found it just under the surface, but it could have been anywhere. Assuming it has the protein on the label, Im happy.

Great taste, no amino spiking, good quality protein

Overall, I think the reason I like this protein is because of the taste while being a good quality protein. My only complain is the protein blend concentrate between isolate, concentrate and hydrolyzed protein is a mystery, but the fact they list isolate as the first ingredient is a good sign.

    Delicious

I read the reviews and decided to get both the vanilla ice cream and extreme milk chocolate. I mixed them together and they are the best I’ve ever tasted. That’s 48 grams of protein in two 8 oz (16 g of protein) glasses of Lactaid milk.I’m full, I loved the taste and got half (64 g) my protein intake on one sitting. 😋I’m ready for the day.

    Chunky and a funky flavor

You need to use a blender to mix up this powder and even then its still chunky, doesn’t matter what you mix it with. It’s protein powder sure but this double rich chocolate flavor is probably the worst I’ve had and I don’t think I’m going to finish it purely because of how nasty the flavor is. I expected everything to not be perfect as its protein powder it will be a little bit chunky and have a kinda off flavor, but jeez this stuff is hard to get down and the after taste is god awful. The chunky bits of whatever stick on the side of your cup and have no good taste whatsoever.

    Yum!!

This vanilla ice cream flavor is crazy! It does taste like vanilla ice cream, though it has an artificial sweetener aftertaste. Understandable since it’s not actually vanilla ice cream. I use this in my smoothies and sometimes just drink it straight up mixed with oat milk if I’m in a hurry. It blends nicely and doesn’t taste chalky at all. I’ve also tried making vanilla ice cream out of it by mixing the powder and oat milk in my manual ice cream maker, but it comes out kind of “meh.” The artificial sweetener taste overpowers the flavor a little bit so I didn’t bother eating it that way again. Great for smoothies, though.

#1 product on the market!! the leader in this industry for a reason & by far!

What’s up my Amazon Health & Fitness Family, it’s me your boy Hardbody. For those of you who have not read or seen any of my reviews, I am Certified Master Trainer for over 20 years & I have many certifications, one of which is a certification in supplementation, so because of my years of knowledge and dedication in helping people achieve healthier lives through exercise & nutrition, is the reason why I do these reviews… in hopes I can help someone, even if that is just one.• As you would guess, I use Whey Protein Isolate every single day (sometimes 2x’ per day) & this

Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard, Banana Cream, 5 Pound

is hands down the best Protein brand on planet earth. Because of that, unless I am offered to review/test a new brand, I ALWAYS buy this.• So you want to know why Whey Protein more specifically, Whey Isolate is extremely important, should you be using it &/or is this a good product? Well let me break this down a bit in hopes I can teach you something you may not have known and help you with your buying decision.————————————————————— Product Information: —————————————————————• Whey Isolate – it’s important to realize that not all forms of whey protein powder are created equally. Whey protein isolate is the most complete forms of protein because it contains the greatest protein concentration coming in at 90-95%, while the rest of the whey protein powders range from 25-89% total protein content. Isolate contains the lowest level of lactose, so perfect for anyone that is lactose intolerant. Benefits of Whey Protein include: helps support a healthy immune system, supports heart health, helps with maintaining a healthy body weight & composition, promotes muscle growth, loss of body fat, reduces the risk for breast cancer in women, helps control blood glucose levels & helps prevent muscle & bone loss older adults. Whey Protein, more specifically Whey Isolate is extremely important, for those reasons. Remember that protein is the building blocks of muscle. If you are dieting or looking to bulk up, Whey protein is your best friend because it provides your body with all of the amino acids it needs to promote ideal health results from workout/training, it’s low in calories, carbohydrates, fats, cholesterol & very convenient. The more protein you eat the more muscle & if you are dieting you will be able to keep more muscle.———————————————————————— PROS: ————–————————————————————• Glanbia is a global nutrition company with their own farms and supplies MANY protein companies, BUT OWNS Optimum Nutrition. So why buy from a secondary source when you can buy right direct from the #1 source & that my Amazon Family makes them the best for a reason!• This is Whey Protein Blend with Isolate being more abundant.• My favorite flavor is Banana Cream & taste unbelievably good.• I always make my shakes in a blender so mixability isn’t an issue for me but I assure you that even in just a shaker cup the mixablity is phenomenal, which leads me to my next pro..• This is absolutely 100% instantized!• Has Digestive Enzymes which is extremely important for me. I have been using this for many years now & never once has my stomach been all jerked up, so another thing i can assure you is true.• This is Ultra-Filtered & any top of the line Whey would make sure the Whey is carefully micro-filtered or Ultra-Filtered to remove any harmful bacteria. The Whey will pass through a special micro-filter & immediately after, bacteria & spores are separated. This process also separates any denatured (altered/cooked) whey proteins from undenatured proteins so that the result is a high quality whey protein rich in alpha-lactalbumin and beta-lactoglobulin (two special proteins found in whey that have immunological benefits) and low in fat. Un-denatured whey proteins obtained in this manner also have better solubility, which means it dissolves easily in any fluid added to it.• Optimum Nutrition list down the breakdown of their entire Amino Acid profile! That my Amazon Family is excellent!• This has approximately 28g of Amino Acids which if you did not know, is a pretty healthy amount. Many won’t list it because1) it is embarrassing low or2) They have something to hide.• Did I mention that this has approximately 5g of Glutamine. Many Whey Proteins do not add any.• I always buy the 5lb jug & the cost $57.99 is an exceptional price, in fact, many lessor Brands of Whey cost more!• Only 2g of sugar & 4g of carbs per scoop. Not sure where that sugar comes from because I read the “other ingredients” and don’t see it. Uses Sucralose, unless the sugar is coming from the “Natural flavor”.• 24g of protein per scoop which is more than most brands.• Has more flavors than ANY company on the planet, so you will never get bored!————————————————————— CONS: —————————————————————• NONE!!!!!!!—————————————————————-— Final Thoughts: ——————–———————————–————• So this is the ONLY protein brand I spend my hard earned money on & will ever! This is my honest & professional review & I was not given anything in return! I paid full price for this & worth every cent!I been buying this for many many many years.—————————————————————-— Personal Note: —————————————————————-—• Buying a respectable brand is actually extremely important because many companies are selling a container of Whey Protein Concentrate as isolate & unless you ran a analysis on it or really know your proteins, you probably wouldn’t even know you were using a cheap form of WPC until you started gaining body fat, started feeling bloated, getting gas, etc., and not getting the results you wanted from using this stuff. You would be surprised at how many companies do this! I 100% recommend

    The best

The best whey protein on the market. With fitness powders a lot of times adulterants are added that are there to increase the weight, not here. I have used this product for years, most of the flavors are actually quite tasty and low in sugar. Great stuff! A little pricey but what isn’t these days.

    Milkshake worthy

I love chocolate malt, so when I saw this I thought I’d give it a try. My previous protein powder turned all clumpy with the second canister so I wasn’t getting that again. I mix the chocolate malt with milk, shake for about a minute and then drink a chocolate malt that is as close to a real milkshake as you can get with a powder. I put this on subscribe and save. Very tasty.

Great product, been using it for 2 years now!

As a fitness enthusiast and a Science guy, I am always curious to find the real value of a supplement. What works and what does not work. More importantly, I believe the analysis of a product should be based on strong scientific knowledge base, combined with good old fashion practical use of the product, and only then one should come down to the final conclusion. This product review and analysis was conducted based on 3 parametersA. Constituents: What comes in the box, the real value of the productB. Assimilation: How does this product goes down in your system, how much of it will your body assimilateC. Usability : Long term usability and and effects.I believe this is one of the best supplements available in the market today. The Question is Why?1. The Quality of protein. Since its manufactured by Glanbia (who owns Optimum nutrition), this product is coming straight from the manufacturer. This is a BIG factor, 90% of the protein supplement companies source their raw materials from third parties, often importing them from third world countries.100 grams of Whey protein isolate from one source is NOT equal to the 100 gram Whey protein isolate from another. Inferior resources usually have high level of Heavy metals and cattle Hormones. This has been elucidated from recent tests and published widely in the consumer reports. ON aced this report with minimum levels of such harmful residues. Reason is simple, they make their own whey in a plant which has to abide all regulations under US law.Just for the point of reference. I am from India, and therefore know first hand how many poorly regulated cheese plants export their whey to Europe and US. So make sure your Whey protein is coming from Whey extracted in the US!!The Additives2. Ideally, I will prefer the protein powder with no artificial sweetener. But lets face it, such a product will be hard to sell. However, Golds whey keep artificial sweeter to minimum. If you check Bodybuilding.com forums, lots of consumer complain that its not sweet enough. I request all such folks to realise that is actually good for them, if you feel this product is not sufficiently sweet for you. Its better you use lesser amount of hydrant (Milk, water, juice etc), or add a tiny bit of Honey. The Profile- The Myth about Isolate vs a Blend3. This might be hard for some people to digest. However, the truth is 96% people who use Whey supplements, will have no additional benefits of taking an Isolate vs a Blend. Please note, when I use the word blend, I mean a product lile Golds whey which is well balanced with Whey isolate and Whey Concentrate. (not any junk product form the market). If you take the blend, you might get 1 gram of extra fat or 2 grams of extra carbs which is absolutely nothing. You can burn this by adding 1.5 minute to your jog routine or walking for 2-3 minutes. You will get the same result and effect as the Isolate, so its not worth spending extra refined Isolate. The Isolate rumor is just a Hype created by the supplement industry. I will repeat this again, if your blend is as good as Golds whey i.e you are getting 24 grams per 30 gram scoop, you don’t need an Isolate.Who all comprise the 4% population who can benefit from an Isolate. First people who are extremely lactose Intolerant. I have used the word extremely since all good products add enzymes to digest the little amount of lactose residue in the supplement. Lactose is not a a bad thing, its simply the milk sugar. So if you are highly allergic to Lactose, Isolate will help (they have negligible levels of lactose)Second tier of people who can benefit from Isolates are professional athletes who are pepping up for an upcoming competition. This competitive set is consuming 5-8+ scoops of Whey protein daily and therefore will benefit from reduction in additional fat or carbs.4. Why go for Whey protein blend when you have specialized protein powders with Whey, egg and Casein. Its simple science, Whey is just better with the best Biological value*. This means that your body will better absorb and use the protein source from Whey more than any other source, therefore no wastage. Egg is also a great resource, which is just behind Whey. However in real world it lags behind Whey substantially, even the delayed absorption rate cannot compensate much. Scientifically it has been proven that Whey is just better, since it doesn’t tax your digestive processes as much as an egg protein.Question of Casein:Its true that Casein has an edge when it comes to delayed absorption. Its anti-catabolic properties and slow absorption makes it an ideal night time protein. This said, its best when you take Casein in concentrated from, i.e. if you need Casein, take only Caesin, do not mix it with Whey… Why do I say this, Its a big topic based on metabolism response(will add a different thread later). One last thing 24 grams of Whey protein is NOT equal to 24 grams of Casein as the Biological value of Casein is lower than Whey. However Caesin does have its own benifit of delayed response, provided you actually need it.*Biological Value: Biological value (BV) is a measure of the proportion of absorbed protein from a food which becomes incorporated into the proteins of the organism’s body.Whey protein concentrate: 104Whole egg: 100Cow milk: 91Beef: 80Casein: 77Soy: 74Last Thoughts:Always keep a note of how much protein you are consuming from Supplements Vs straight from the food. Ideally one should keep protein sources from supplements under 25%, but if your life style is demanding and you are unable to get hold of good meals rich in protein, you should always keep your protein dependency under 50%. In layman terms, for most of us who are looking for fitness, keep it not more than 2 scoops/day. For those who really pump some heavy Iron keep it upto than 3 scoops/day. (let me know if you wish to know the science behind this)In the end Supplements are only Supplements. The word Supplement has a lot of Drama attached to it, as if, if you don’t take a protein shake within 30 minutes of your work out.. you will never make good gain. Total Crap. This is not a make or break factor(its just beneficial). Baring few exceptions. Supplements adds up only 20 percent of your fitness equation.

Good product but flavor is not good

I used to buy this brand all this time several years ago and I don’t recall ever having an issue with flavor. The product has always blended well and easily. However, I recently purchased 3 different flavors of this brand – vanilla, double rich chocolate, and peanut butter chocolate. Well…. I was a bit disappointed with the tastes. Vanilla flavor was the most tolerable for me, the other two chocolate flavors I find honestly a little gross. I have to do my best to ignore the taste as I chug down my protein shakes. Needless to say, I don’t think I’ll be buying these products anymore. I purchased protein power brand called Rule1 a few months ago and it actually tasted soooo good, then they shot up their prices to $100 per 5lb bucket and so I decided to give this brand another try. I’ll be going back to Rule1 lol

The gold standard of whey protein

Great flavor, easy to blend, and a good value. This protein is the gold standard in my house. I have been purchasing this brand for easily 20 years. The only issue I have is how much the price can fluctuate yearly. As of now, it’s still somewhat affordable, but when it reaches a certain price point I have to look elsewhere.

    Great Taste, Mixing Challenges

Optimum Nutrition’s Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein Powder in the chocolate peanut butter is a flavorful treat for your taste buds, offering a rich and delightful taste. The chocolate and peanut butter combination is a winner in terms of flavor. I drink protein shakes almost every day and the taste gets real old, real fast. This one never tasted bad, so I’d recommend the flavor. But, there’s a notable downside. Mixing this protein powder can be challenging. I used a quality shaker bottle and still struggled to achieve a smooth consistency. The powder tends to clump, resulting in a chunky texture. I used this while dieting so I’d mix it in a shaker bottle with water every morning and it just wouldn’t dissolve the way it should. If taste is your top priority and you don’t mind putting in extra effort to mix it properly, this protein powder may be worth trying. Also, if you typically blend your protein shakes, you won’t have any problems. But if easy mixing is essential to you, you might want to explore other options.

    Great tasting powder

I haven’t tried very many protein powders but I’ve already been settling on this one as my go-to. This powder has a nice “weighted” texture to it such that it doesn’t kick up a cloud whenever transferring it unlike some other powders I’ve tried. The Strawberries & Cream flavor is great for making my strawberry and banana smoothies and doesn’t taste artificial. Not all of it gets dissolved when blending my smoothie but it’s minimal and might be more of a blender problem than a powder problem. I’ve gone through the 5 lbs canister in a few months and I wish they sold a 10 lbs version for the Strawberries & Cream flavor.

    YUMMY!

So I started drinking this 2-3 times a day. Once upon waking up and instead of loading myself with pre-work out I started adding this to my coffee in the morning. I did notice that it somewhat blended better in cold brew and after I would shake the container. I did end up going through it pretty quickly, but this size or larger is the best. I am going to try chocolate next.

    My NEW go-to for protein

I have tried a LOT of protein powders. Most are chalky and don’t mix well or you have to choke it down due to the bad taste. Optimum Nutrition mixes up really well (I use a frother). I can down half a shaker cup in one shot. The taste is not overbearing but just perfect in my opinion. This is a great product. I can’t wait to try it when I make protein balls.

    No gas!

I needed something that would not cause bloating, gas or stomach pain. This product does the trick. The flavor was OK. I will try the vanilla next. It is a bit lumpy and takes quite a bit of stirring or shaking to partially break up the lumps. I do recommend if you are seeking an alternative that does not cause stomach upset.

I have tried other brands and flavors and they were what you’d expect from a protein powder same as with premade shakes but this…this supersedes my expectations! There’s no foul aftertaste, not chalky nor thick and it blends so fast! I did add just a couple ounces more of water and poured over ice…so gooood! If you like peanut butter and chocolate I strongly suggest you give this a try. I’m not paid for this review either😂

    Best source of protein supplement

Really impressed by this product. Searched online and found out that this is one of the best sources for protein supplement available especially if you consider number of calories consumed per gram of protein. Per label each scoop provides about 31 grams of proteins with about 120 calories per scoop. Available in several different flavors to chose from. I tried vanilla ice cream flavor which was great. Tastes great and could be mixed with smoothies. It is sweet so be careful if you plan to add any sweetener. 5 lb pack is a great value for money. Highly recommended!!

This product is easy to use, mixes easily into water or milk, is not gritty, and tastes good. I would prefer it have no or at least less sugar added, but many similar products also contain sugar for flavoring. Best Protein powder

The media could not be loaded.

I like the protein drink when I work out. The only problem I have is an elevated heart rate. So I use it moderately. The taste is not bad and it’s good with water. You can’t beat that.

    Fantastic muscle recovery and growth

Hii..bit about me –i practise Muay Thai along with Jujutsu. Mostly my workouts involve a lot of plyometrics, High Intensity Interval training (sprintiing and shadow boxing based) and lot of weight training (medium weights, high reps). Been working out for more then a decade now.In the past i would mostly try to get my proteins naturally (Milk, cottage cheese before sleeping, Eggs etc). it worked well but then i thought i had hit a plateau and whenever i tried to push myself more i would end up feeling tired the next day. This coupled with a day job made it difficult. Finally bit the bullet and bought the 10lb bag of ON gold standard (Vanilla, max servings among other flavors, also less of fillers from what i understand). I hate the taste of it as against Double chocolate version (tried earlier) but thats the leeast of my worriesI had considered a couple of other products as well (cheaper of course) but then i realized one ends up paying almost the same with them since the protein per serving ratio is way less then ON and hence the cost comes to the same almost. Also, ON manufactures all of its stuff in USA and extracts them there (no third party outsourcing) so that kind of tilted me in their favour..Difference / Observations –Things have started looking up no doubt. Able to shed that last bit of stubborn fat from the waist and i can go all nuclear on my ass with respect to workouts daily without that tiredness.Additionally, lactic acid buildup is down to a minimal and muscle definition plus growth is a definite YES.Word of caution — i have been supplementing with L-Glutamine(early morning and late night) and BCAA’s(pre, during and post workouts) as well (ON again). Me thinks that they have played some role in the overall improvement as well but then there are loads who believe GLutamine is just expensive Urine and BCAA’s are useless since 1 serving of ON Whey already provides 5.5 gms BCAA’s and rest one would get from their daily diet. (seperate review on Glutamine and BCAA’s under the respective products). Also, i have been very strict with my diet as well off late so that is another reason for the vast improvements. (abs are made in the kitchen like they say :D)Rating — 4.5 stars (i dont want those fillers in it but then thats impossible to avoid for this kind of protein right)Next in line –get rid of glutamine and BCAA’s and jump to Creatine and Beta Alanine instead. this would be a game changer for sure. will sit on it for sometime and then take the plunge.(the water weight gain from creatine is a concern since i need to be faster more then bulkier)..

    Does not taste very good

With 8oz of water, the taste is quite nasty. I use about 2oz of water and it tastes OK, but not what I expected for a double chocolate flavored drink.

What does “Not significant trans fat contained” means?

The ingredient label said “Not significant trans fat”, not 0g trans fat.The total fat is 1.5g. And saturated fat is 1g. If so, is trans fat 0.5g?How many grams of trans fat are regarded as not significant?

    GS Strawberry Creme

My boyfriend is a big lover of strawberry milk and understandably is also a huge fan of Gold Standard’s strawberry protein powder. The stores around me unfortunately didn’t sell Gold Standard so I opted to try Muscle Milk’s strawberry flavor instead. Big mistake. I nearly stopped working out for 2 months because the idea of having to finish that jug of powder is so repulsive.I finally caved eventually and ordered this. I like to mix it with rice milk and DHA Omega-3 milk. It has that gross protein smell to it, but so long as you drink it without a sniff, it tastes absolutely amazing.

Wish they would add more to the container but other than that it is a great powder. It tastes good and seems to be loaded with protein. I seem to have a problem with mixing though cause every now and then I will get little clumps of the powder.

    Tastes like Hot Chocolate mix

Have always been a fan of the Optimum Nutrition brand and this was the most inexpensive per ounce so I bought it this time around… wasn’t expecting this to taste like the Swiss Miss hot chocolate packets — unsure if this was the expected flavor since it’s a chocolate flavored *protein* powder, but it’s a little interesting of a flavor when mixed with water for a post-workout shake. I don’t think I love it like I love the other flavors (vanilla ice cream, cookies and cream, etc.), but I think it has more opportunity for mixing in baked goods like banana bread or peanut butter banana smoothies. Would probably like to rate it 3/5 stars, but giving it 4/5 since I believe the flavor is actually supposed to just taste like those hot chocolate packets… kind of confusing with just water as a base though.

The highest amount of protein per dollar

I’ve tried a lot of different protein powders over the years. I go through a lot of it and for a while I was buying Muscle Milk, which was inexpensive when bought in a 5 lb. bag. The taste was OK, but I began to take a serious look at how much of the powder was actually protein (here’s a hint– not as much as I thought).Because I’m a bit obsessive about these things, I made a spreadsheet to compare several different brands. I looked at grams of protein per serving, number of servings per container, and cost. This allowed me to calculate how many grams of protein I was actually getting per container (not just how much powder).Gold Standard came out on top. Though the price is higher than some other powders, I can get more grams of protein per dollar spent than with any of the other commonly-available brands that I looked at. There may be a better value out there, but I limited my search to stuff I could buy from Amazon. The taste is… OK. I’ve tried a couple of different ones so far. Double rich chocolate tastes no better or worse than most of the other chocolate protein powders I’ve tried. It’s a bit less sweet, and I suspect that there are fewer grams of sweetener in this powder than some of the others, but I haven’t cared to look.I tried one of the strawberry flavors and the taste was very diluted, even though I mix it with only a small amount of water. Neither one tasted bad, but there’s no doubt you’re drinking them for nutrition rather than enjoyment.I believe the best tasting protein powder I ever tried was Syntha 6 chocolate cake batter. It’s been a while but I remember it having a very rich chocolate flavor. It doesn’t provide as much protein per dollar (at least at the time of my analysis), but I may try it again out of curiosity.Optimum generally has a pretty good reputation for protein powder, and I’ve been happy enough with it that I’m on my 6th or 7th tub from them. The flavor is OK but not great when mixed with water (I haven’t tried it with milk), it mixes easily, and it has a high protein-per-dollar ratio. I don’t think you can go wrong here.

Gold standard whey in the market

I have been powerlifting since 6 years and have tried multiple whey proteins. By foremost, optimum Nutrition’s Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein Powder in Double Rich Chocolate has been my favorite protein and with a consistent taste. The decadent chocolate flavor makes it a treat post-workout for a person with sweet tooth but on strict diet. Its low sugar and fat content align with fitness goals. With 24 grams of high-quality protein per serving, it supports muscle recovery effectively. The mixability is superb – no clumps or grit. The inclusion of BCAAs is perfect for my muscle-building benefits.

    Good while it lasted

Initially, this protein mix had a great taste and was easy to mix. I started using it daily on June 21st, and considering its size, I estimated it would last about a month. However, it didn’t meet my expectations in terms of longevity. I used it every day, except on workout days when I used 2 scoops. In a week about 10 scoops. By the 20th day, I noticed that I was reaching the bottom of the container.Despite this issue, I plan to continue using the product and purchase another one to determine if the volume remains consistent. Additionally, I observed that after approximately 20 days, the mixture becomes chunky and clumpy when mixed with water, even though I store it in a dry place. It’s worth noting that these observations pertain to the mixing process and not the product in its original container. On a positive note, I thoroughly enjoy the flavor, as it resembles a vanilla shake. I would advise against adding too much water to achieve a creamy consistency. In summary, while there were some concerns regarding the product’s durability and mixing process, the taste and flavor were highly enjoyable. I will continue to assess its performance and determine if these issues persist.

You pay for what you get!

This stuff works and tastes great! I am very picky about my protein powder and this stuff has exceeded my expectations! It is not gritty tasting, it has just the right amount of flavor and it gives me some killer muscles! It is on the pricey side so that is why I am giving it a 4 star

It pairs well with almost anything

So this stuff is not too shabby. We like to put it in just about anything we bake such as pancakes, waffles, cakes, muffins you get the point. It’s not too shabby and ice cream creme brulee hell a little bit and coffee isn’t too shabby either. My wife told me I’m not allowed to have sugar anymore like candy sugar. So now I’ve got to resort to making my own candy. You know what? I put this s*** up in there too. It’s delicious.
