I know Cerave is the holy grail of skin care for lots of people and I do like this lotion quite a bit. It’s light and absorbs easily into my skin. I am fairly picky about what I use on my hands because I can’t stand the feel of a thick heavy lotion just sitting on my skin as I try to go about my day. If a lotion makes my hands feel dirty, it’s useless because then I just have to wash it off. This lotion is almost perfect. It’s a little pricey and feels a bit watery but it does leave my hands feeling soft and clean.

If the pump doesn’t pump…..
I will focus on the issue many have, including me, of the pump on a new bottle NOT working.The pump just turns freely without a stop and doesn’t pump. And yes, I tried all the obvious and natural things to do as with any such pump.I phoned Customer Service and was told this:”Tap the bottom of the container three times”. (She did NOT say “Make a wish.”)”Then twist the top in the direction marked “Open”.”IT WORKED!!!Now the pump works as it should. She tried to explain exactly why this works, but I didn’t follow her explanation.I suspect it is something like Tech Support telling you to unplug your device. count to ten. then plug it back in — which reboots and resets the device. So basically “operator error”.————————————–Regarding the product itself…My Dermatologist recommended it to me. He told me it is the best moisturizing lotion out there. (I did not ask him if he had stock in the company.)He also said the best way to use it is to wet your skin first, then TAP the skin with a towel to remove most of the water. THEN put the lotion on your damp skin. He said that helps the product get absorbed.I tried it and it does work better that way.I highly recommend this product.I gave it four stars only because of the pump problems which several reviewers have mentioned, including me.

Great for sensitive skin
Got this for my grandmother after trying over a dozen different moisturizers. Not one helped her with her sensitive skin, but this one did the trick. It keeps skin soft, has caused no irritation, and has been fantastic for her. She loves it because it doesn’t even make her hands oily. I would highly recommend it. The trick is to use less than you think you need, and it lasts a lifetime.

Smells like Grandma’s makeup bag.
So upon first use I can tell you right now. It stinks. Man, oh man.. It stinks. After applying to my face the scent lingers for a few hours. The best way I can accurately describe this scent is… it smells like the inside of grandma’s old makeup bag. So maybe it can bring you a little nostalgia. But it IS advertised as “no fragrance” which means no pretty chemical smells. A lot of dermatologists recommend using no fragrance products because it can cause allergic reactions to some people with sensitive skin conditions, however no fragrance means we get the smell of the actual ingredients. It’s not oily like other lotions and it dries quick. So you won’t get a caked on feeling. To be honest. I will probably still use this because of how well it makes my skin look and feel. I will not be using this in the morning, only at night because this smell is pretty bad. But in my opinion, it’s worth putting up with in order to have healthy young looking skin.

My best experience with facial lotions. But not specifically designed for oily skin
My skin definitely leans toward the oily side. And, being 17, it is acne prone. And even though I’m loving my Thayer’s Rose Witch Hazel Toner, and it makes my skin incredibly soft, I still felt like I needed a moisturizer in my regimen.I have been using the CeraVe foaming cleanser for almost a year now. It is without a doubt my favorite cleanser, more so than CetaPhil or any other. It is often recommended by dermatologists, and that was good enough for me. I love it. Having tried a few facial moisturizers before and them all leaving my oily skin feeling greasier, I thought “I should try CeraVe, I love their cleanser.” I have complete faith in this company, and the reviews (even reviews from oily-skinned people) made this stuff sound amazing.I was very excited to try this. After my toner dried into my skin, feeling very soft, I took almost a full pump of this (as that is what I do with the CeraVe cleanser) and applied it to my face. And…my skin felt like it had lotion on it. My hand dragged across my skin, sticking lightly to it. My face couldn’t feel anything on it, which was nice, but my hand could feel a not-as-soft texture as my toner gives me. I thought “It just needs to soak in, I’ll see how it feels in the morning” Slept on it…nope, my skin is still not as soft as my toner makes it. Hand still kind of drags across it. Definitely not as bad at all as my previous experiences with facial moisturizers, but still, not nearly as optimistic as I was when I got it.Feeling that since I bought it, I have to at least give it a better chance then just one use, I put it on again that morning, but only used about a half of a pump. Face can’t feel the lotion on it, but my hand still is dragging a little on that lotion texture. And a few hours later, my nose is a bit oilier than it normally is. Not horrible, but still not encouraging.The next time I use it, I barely pump any of it and spread it all around my face. And it sinks in completely within maybe 15 minutes, A lot better results, it leaves my skin softer than the previous two uses. Not feeling as lotion-y.I will update in a couple of weeks to see if I like this enough to keep in my regimen. But it currently seems that, as it says on the label, this is made for normal to dry skin, and if you lean on the oily side like me, you’re going to be able to use less of this for better results.

Works amazing on chapped lips!
Wow! I gotta say right off I do not really use lotion often, I work outdoors everyday so I never really saw a point. The last month I’ve been working a really dusty dry job site and got sick on top of it. When I tell you my nose AND LIPS were more chapped dry and cracked than they have ever been in my 33 year life I’m serious! 100% I used probably 2 dollops the size of a nickel and no Exaggeration whatsoever in almost instanly i had relief from the pain and within 5 minutes my nose AND LIPS were restored to go normal, 5 MINUTES!!! THIS PRODUCT IS AMAZING! I’d recommend it to my best friend or worst enemy! And the price is not bad either! Looking for a lotion to cure dry skin, or chapped lips!?!? Look no further, add to cart, buy, try, enjoy, thank me later!

Damaged, but great customer service
I’ve always heard this is a great product. My order did come a bit damaged (leaking), but I contacted Amazon Customer Service and they were really understanding and even sent me a replacement for free! I was just nervous about putting an unsealed product on my face…but hopefully the new product will be in tact and the product will be as wonderful as most reviews claim it to be. Thank you Amazon!

Finally found what my severely dry skin needed
Even living in a humid climate, I have always had difficulty keeping my skin moisturized and healthy. I look for natural ingredients, but so many lotions have petroleum ingredients. Petroleum does not have moisturizing properties, it just creates a skin barrier for whatever moisture your skin already has. The CeraVe (unscented) is even safe and effective on my face, which is the ultimate test for skin benefits and purity. My mother has even started using this, and her skin is intolerant to most lotions. Give it a try!

in cold weather, my dry skin on hands leads to small cuts on finger tips and joints.This is a good moisturizer, since effect seems to last longer than Aveeno or Lubriderm. But I will sometimes use vaseline (petroleum jelly) on recent cuts to speed the healing. With warmer weather now (early April) skin problem is lessening.

First of all I received CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion very quickly and in great condition. The moisturizer works very well. My face is usually greasy but during the winter it gets very dry and my Aveeno moisturizer which works great during the summer, doesn’t work well for the cold season. I bought this moisturizer after reading about it in a magazine and noticed how great it works as soon as I put it on without making my face greasy. The only thing I really don’t like about it is the smell. It has a medicine smell to it that I personally don’t like at all and it just lingers for a long time. So needless to say I was torn on what to do because I love the way it helps take away the flakiness and tight feeling of my skin especially in the morning. So I decided to mix just a little bit of my Aveeno positively ageless moisturizer (that I usually use during the summer which has a very pretty smell) with some of the CeraVe lotion and it worked out great! My skin feels amazing without the medicine smell to it. So if you are able to get past the medicine smell than I do recommend CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion.

Personally I actually really like this lotion because i hate the scented ones, and the ones that make your skin tight/really warm. This does neither of those. However, I use an app (Yuka) that shows you how the ingredients actually effect you on a scale of 1-100 (100 being best) and this was actually only a 15/100. The recommended product it gave me was Cetaphil, which is what i’m goijg to try next after I use this bottle (bc i aint wasteful). Although i will say the lotion drys really quickly, which i prefer but is probably a sign it isnt as good of a product

Yes, you read that. I absolutely abhor wearing moisturizer. I hate everything about it, smearing it on, the texture on my hands, the texture sitting on my face, everything. However, as I continue into my 40s and especially with the dry winter air, there’s no denying that it is necessary. After trying about six different brands/formulations, the Internet suggested CeraVe. I decided to go for it and haven’t looked back since. This is truly a lightweight formula that absorbs quickly and isn’t too sticky. It probably isn’t sticky at all; that’s how sensitive I am to even the word lotion. Speaking about sensitivity, I also have VERY sensitive skin. We’re talking I blow my nose twice and my entire central face it irritated. I burned easily as a kid (I don’t anymore since I wear SPF every single day), have very pink cool undertones, lots of freckles, and still have a fairly oily forehead and chin by the end of the day. I got away without using anything on my face through my 30s but now I truly need just enough hydration to keep the dry spots at bay. This also wears great under a tinted moisturizer (we know it’s not the same as lotion) or foundation (even mixed in). The fact that I could use it on my body and my face was also a huge selling point. It is completely fragrance free and once it is rubbed in and dried, I do not feel that heaviness I have experienced even with Clinique and Neutrogena lightweight formulas. I do need to use quite a bit of it on my legs but just a dab does my entire face. If you are looking for something as truly lightweight and as it states, for daily use, I highly recommend this. I’m sure the cream is awesome for those who need something more concentrated. It is also budget friendly compared to anything from a cosmetic counter.

Bad packing
The product itself is great; however, when I picked up the box from Whole Foods it was rattling around in the box…no paper, no plastic, no bubble wrap just a plastic container rolling around in a big box. When I opened it the pump was off and when I tried to put it back on, I noticed the cap was chipped so the pump would not stay on. It would have been quite messy to return it so I bought a new screw pump. As I said, the lotion itself is great!!!

This moisturizer is really good if you have sensitive skin. It’s not as moisturizing as some other skin moisturizers I’ve tried, but it still works fine. It’s also a light formula so you don’t have to worry too much about break outs, unless you put more on than you’re supposed to. If you know how much is a good amount to use each time you do your skincare, this bottle will definitely last a long time.

I suffered from very dry skin particularly on my legs and feet. It itched terribly, even keeping me up at night. I tried other lotions, with varying success but nothing actually solved the problem. But, I tried CeraVe and was surprised that it actually helped right away. Honestly, I had given up on lotions helping, since they tended to need reapplication – and I am a bit lazy. But this product gave me just enough all day moisturizing to take away the itch! Now, I use it right after showering daily, and highly recommend IF you suffer from dry itchy skin.

My skin breaks out from everything so I am always afraid to try new products but I have heard a lot of good things about this brand so I gave it a go, and it has worked really well! It has not caused my face to break out and it keeps it moisturized. A little goes a long way, just need a small dab and it covers my whole face and neck. It is also very light weight and doesn’t really smell like much. Nothing overpowering and it doesn’t smell medicine like. I honestly can’t even remember if it has a smell haha which is a good thing right? My boyfriend also uses this for his eyelids (weird, I know haha) because they get super dry, and he says it helps a lot! It doesn’t burn or anything when they are super dry. I will continue to use this as my moisturizer as long as my skin allows me to 🙂

Nice lotion but doesn’t last as long as I’d expect
I like that this lotion is #1 – unscented and #2 – that is contains hyaluronic acid. However and with that said, I’d expect the lotion to last far longer than a couple of hours which the Neutrogena Hydro does (but Neutrogena is scented).

Not overly eye-irritating
My main criteria for acceptability of a face lotion is if it irritates my eyes by the end of the day. Secondary is whether it performs its function as a moisturizer.So far, it does a good (but still not perfect) job of not irritating my eyes. I don’t notice any irritation until the very end of the day, and then it is not terrible and it doesn’t always happen. I am somewhat tentative about this finding, however, because it is winter and my face is therefore not producing as much oil. It’s certainly likely that this lotion would not be something I could use during the summer.The moisturizing effect feels somewhat similar to http://www.amazon.com/Neutrogena-Norwegian-Formula-Cream-Fragrance-Free/dp/B005CPZFWQ (although I have never tried the Hand Cream on my face). The CeraVe feels more liquidy/greasy at first but somehow still manages to rub in all the way.I’m still not 100% sure this lotion will work as a face lotion for me, but it is so far better than anything else I’ve tried (such as http://www.amazon.com/Neutrogena-Oil-Free-Moisture-Sensitive-Skin/dp/B000052YOX and http://www.amazon.com/Alba-Botanica-Hawaiian-Moisturizer-Oil-Free/dp/B00M8RNZIC).

Best moisturizer ever
This is my favorite moisturizer. When I was younger I used to go to CVS and buy a ton of samples to try out, so I’m familiar with a variety of brands and their results. This moisturizer takes the cake for making my skin feel and look healthy.- It truly is unscented, no gross plasticky smell.- It’s not heavy either, it absorbs nicely- After I put it on I can feel that my skin is less rough, it softens my skin and leaves a healthy feelingI am lucky to not have sensitive skin but my boyfriend has very sensitive skin and acne. This moisturizer visibly helps his inflammation when he uses it consistently on his face and shoulders. It’s the best!

I suffer from seborrheic dermatitis, so my skin is super sensitive most face moisturizers burn my skin. my skin used to be rough and peeled all the time. i switched to this after trying neutrgena products and even tried prescription stuff. i got a free sample of this from cerave in the mail at the time i was super desperate to find something that would make even a tiny improvement. after trying the sample i bought this the next day. this made an immediate difference. it melts into the skin and doesn’t feel heavy or oily when applying. theres no added fragrance so it doesnt smell at all. its the only product ive ever used that doesnt hurt or burn. my skin is clear and soft after 2 weeks using it a few times a week. this product quite literally saved my face. my fiance noticed the change right away and has noticed that my confidence has also improved. i was also surprised about how well it works under makeup as well. it kept my face nice and hydrated all day and actually make makeup removal easier.

Good for my sensitive skin
I have sensitive skin that itches/tingles with a lot of cleansers and moisturizers. I also have more acne-prone and pore clogged skin recently, and I always have to come back to this moisturizer because it doesn’t clog my pores or cause sensitivity. My only complaint is it’s very lightweight which is sometimes not enough in dry months, so I have to apply multiple times throughout the day.

Yes, you read that. I absolutely abhor wearing moisturizer. I hate everything about it, smearing it on, the texture on my hands, the texture sitting on my face, everything. However, as I continue into my 40s and especially with the dry winter air, there’s no denying that it is necessary. After trying about six different brands/formulations, the Internet suggested CeraVe. I decided to go for it and haven’t looked back since. This is truly a lightweight formula that absorbs quickly and isn’t too sticky. It probably isn’t sticky at all; that’s how sensitive I am to even the word lotion. Speaking about sensitivity, I also have VERY sensitive skin. We’re talking I blow my nose twice and my entire central face it irritated. I burned easily as a kid (I don’t anymore since I wear SPF every single day), have very pink cool undertones, lots of freckles, and still have a fairly oily forehead and chin by the end of the day. I got away without using anything on my face through my 30s but now I truly need just enough hydration to keep the dry spots at bay. This also wears great under a tinted moisturizer (we know it’s not the same as lotion) or foundation (even mixed in). The fact that I could use it on my body and my face was also a huge selling point. It is completely fragrance free and once it is rubbed in and dried, I do not feel that heaviness I have experienced even with Clinique and Neutrogena lightweight formulas. I do need to use quite a bit of it on my legs but just a dab does my entire face. If you are looking for something as truly lightweight and as it states, for daily use, I highly recommend this. I’m sure the cream is awesome for those who need something more concentrated. It is also budget friendly compared to anything from a cosmetic counter.

it’s not thick if that’s what you prefer like me. it blends in super nicely and moisturizes my extremely dry skin so well. there’s no white cast and i love this product. great for overly sensitive skin like mine:)

I am a 69-year-old guy, so I’m not really into makeup of any kind, but I get a little dryness on my face, so I use this cream after I take a shower. It is fantastic stuff, I’ve got to say! Highly recommended for anyone, even if you’re an old guy like me. 😄👍

Best lotion I’ve ever used.

I dont use it up fast enough i guess and its one of those lotions that starts to get that funky plasticy weird smell after enough time passes. Its also a little heavy and greasy on my skin so i probably wont be getting this particular one next time.

This product must be first praised for everything it is not. So many hyped skin care products contain known irritants which can not only cause immediate redness but long term can cause aging to the skin even when the user does not see the irritation as redness. No volatile plant oils like orange or lavender. No alcohol or witch hazel or any other ingredients known to cause irritation. This fact alone separates this product from so many other uber-popular moisturizers. But that’s not where this product stops. They’ve included many well-researched ingredients for the skin. Just check this ingredient list and do a 5 minute internet research on these ingredients’ effectiveness. And if that were not enough, this product goes on light weight and almost doesn’t feel like it is there, yet provides effective dry skin control. So why only 4 stars when this product outshines almost everything at the drugstore and quite a few high end moisturizers? The manufacturers obviously did their skin ingredient research but they seemed to have forgotten the research on anti-oxidants. Sadly, they neglected to include any in this product formulation. Regardless, this product remains a great alternative. For use on the face as well!

I have tried lots of lotion. I have sensitivity issues and sensitive to many smells. Either to heavy on skin, oily, scent wrong, makes me itch. Doesn’t moisturizer and so on. I really like this it mixes with my body chemistry well very moisturizing. Not heavy on your skin absorbs well not greasy. Will continue to purchase.

Works well on dry skin
I bought this because I recently have tried the CeraVe body cream (love it) and wanted to compare it with this body lotion. I have used Lubriderm for many years and wanted to compare it with that also. It is very hydrating and keeps my very dry skin moisturized. With Lubriderm I have to reapply a few times throughout the day. With the CeraVe lotion only needs one application and it lasts all day long.

Seems ok but after I put it on moisture forms on top of the lotion on my skin. Probably because of the humidity on my island, but I couldn’t wear this lotion. Lotion Came fast, just not for me.

I have sensitive skin and tend to break out really easily, I also have dry skin and most moisturizers cause me to break out. This is a very nice and thin moisturizer that gets easily and quickly absorbed by the skin. It doesn’t feel oily or like it clogs the pores, which is really nice. I think I’ve had a couple instances with new pimples after using it, but it’s not making me breakout. Which is tops! I’ve bought some very expensive moisturizers that I just have sitting around at this point because they make my skin so nasty! It’s so nice to have a moisturizer I can actually use. Even though I feel like I occasionally get a pimple from it, it could just be my evil pimple ridden face. The upside is that my acne has gotten less bad since my skin has been less dry, so that’s a very nice upside.

Good for acne-prone skin
I’ve realized the importance of moisturizing far too late in my teen years. I have had acne-prone skin for as long as I can remember and this has been my go-to moisturizer (used daily morning and night). Budget friendly, skin feels hydrated, and most importantly this does not leave the sticky thick feeling on my skin. The only down side for me is that there is no scent, but for some this can be a plus. Overall, would recommend.

I have been using this for years. It is non-greasy, non-comedogenic, and it is also a humectant. It doesn’t leave a sticky feeling on your skin. My dry skin literally drinks it in. I also use the P.M. version at night. If you have super dry skin the cream formula works great in the winter. I highly recommend.

Favorite moisturizer
I buy this for the summer time because it’s so lightweight. In the wintertime I usually have to put it on, let it soak up on my face, and then reapply. Other than that I really like it. You don’t need a full pump to cover both face and neck. Almost no scent and has no added fragrance.

Listen to me: THIS PRODUCT WORKS. Ingredients are listed from highest to lowest concentration. Parabens are normally 3/4th the way down the list or dead last. They will not hurt you. You know what will cause immediate contact dermatitis? Phenoxyethanol – the preservative dujour beauty companies now are using to replace parabens with the Paraben Mafia shows up to complain. Their complaints are ruining beautiful skincare lines that absolutely work.Again: this product is wonderful. NO BREAKOUTS. Clear skin. Healed skin. 100 stars if I could.

I purchased this product on the recommendation of my dermatologist. I was suffering from dry itchy skin and some eczema. This lotion really does help with the itching. It’s been about 18 months since I first tried this and I’ve not had a problem with itchy patches since then. Furthermore the lotion is light enough that it can be used all over and not just on problem areas. Another plus is that it truly is fragrance free. I’m very sensitive to smells and after it dries you can’t even tell you have any lotion on. No lingering smells and no greasy residue.The only issue I have is that if you have any really dry areas or eczema patches you might need something heavier and more soothing for those areas. When my skin gets particularly dry I usually have to use something in addition to this.This lotion is a little on the pricey side but it’s far superior to the heavily scented cheaper drug store lotions. It’s slightly cheaper when purchased from Amazon as well!

Not good for acne prone skin.
I bought this lotion for my back and chest since I get acne in those areas and needed something that wouldn’t clog my pores. This lotion was recommended by some skincare youtube videos so I thought it would be a good choice, especially since it says on the bottle that it’s “non-comedogenic and won’t clog pores”.I started to breakout more after using it… so I decided to get a list of pore clogging ingredients and read through the ingredient list on the back of the bottle.It lists cetearyl alcohol as the 4th ingredient and ceteareth-20 as the 12th ingredient. Apparently those ingredients on their own are fine but if they are in the same product, they will clog your pores. They don’t have to be listed back to back either. The last ingredient is polyglyceryl-3-diisostearate which also clogs pores.I heard that companies can make claims like “non-comedogenic” and “won’t clog pores” because those statements aren’t regulated by the FDA. Which would make sense since this product definitely broke me out and has ingredients that aren’t good for acne sufferers. So I would recommend reading ingredients before making a purchase for any product.I will continue to use this lotion for other areas but not where I break out. It does moisturize and doesn’t have a scent.

This reasonably priced large size moisturizer is convenient to keep by the sink for use after using CeraVie cleaner. It is odorless and a good base for makeup. My only complaint is that at this price point it should also contain a sun block of SPF 25 or more.
