Update Review:Turns out that I used a different Vit C product dating back to 2009, and then switched to this brand in 2016. The seller/manufacturer did reach out to me to offer a refund for the product, which I appreciated. They also offered to resend me a new bottle or something else. I opted for something else since I had already purchased another Vit C serum to replace this brand. I’m adding a star because this is excellent customer service. And I hope to return back to this brand another try when my current bottle with another brand is empty.———————-Original review:I’ve been using this exact product since 2009, back when it was $12-15. My most recent repurchase seems to be either a bad batch or just the brand coming down on quality. Something must have changed with the formula or potency because it does NOT have that same brightening effect on me. It still gives a decent moisturize base but not much else. Maybe I got my first bad batch in a decade? Idk but at $35, it ain’t cheap anymore to repurchase just to figure it out. Disappointed.

Works great with face yoga -Consistently gentle – A good, clean daily serum to have on hand!
Great for use in the morning with face yoga! Tapping it in or patting it in instead of rubbing, seems to work best when i used this product. You need to use a moisturizer afterwards , though, because it is not extremely moisturizing and does not have a lot of slip unless you apply more product; but even then it evaporates quickly, and what happens to get left behind on the skin, absorbs but it’s a bit sticky. If you don’t want to use a heavy moisturizer on top of it or if you are skipping the sunscreen, you can spray on something light and moisturizing like rose water or glycerin water, and be good to go for applying your makeup or for bare-facing it. This serum does not have a huge scent, but what you can smell, is not at all offensive, which is perfect if you don’t like a lot of perfumy fragrance close to your nose. If looking for a daily serum, this one is a good, clean one to have on hand. I don’t notice a super plumping, hydrated, shiny, glow-y look from this product like i see with some serums, but you do get a clean, brightened, natural, and bit of a dewy look with this product. Plus, it is consistently gentle. Hope you try it! It is truly a good, clean daily serum to have on hand! By the way, it gently smooths the back of your hands, too! Works nicely underneath a moisturizing hand cream.

I have some dark sun spots that this was supposed to remove. I really went all out with this stuff and irritated my skin. Use less than I did, is my advice. Maybe every other day?What change I saw was completely removed by just a few minutes in the sun. Really, wear sunscreen!

I have struggled with acne since i was in middle school, from over the counter to prescriptions, my skin is extremely sensitive and reacts to pretty much everything!I have been using this serum for almost two years now, and I have to say I have noticed a huge reduction of dark spots from old acne scars! I use it every night after my toner, rubbing it on with damp fingertips.Due to my skin sensitivity, I don’t use this product in the AM as direct sunlight seems to turn me bright red. My biggest complaint is the topper of the bottle, Ive been through 3-4 bottles, and the last 2 I have received do not close all the way, they close on an angle so you don’t get a true closed seal which makes them leak. If you close it too tightly the top pops right off…please fix this so I can continue being a happy customer!!!!

Use in moderation, it can dry your skin out sometimes if you use it too much. I like it best when mixed in with daily moisturizer. Also, make sure you wash your hands after applying because it will stain your fingers and make them smell weird. Overall very good!!

I’ve been using it as part of a routine with the cleanser, and the day/night creams for over 2 months. No noticeable difference at this point, sadly, and my lines are NOT deep. I have some mouth creases, and some neck sag, but this has not helped at all so far…☹️Update- 5/23/2023While I still haven’t changed my mind with how I feel about the product(s)- I was using the whole line of cleanser, serum, day/night creams, I do wish to give a shout out to the customer service for this company.Erica reached out to me, and was genuinely concerned that the products didn’t work for me. I was offered a refund on the products, so I didn’t really lose out on anything except the irritation I experienced on my face & neck! LOL…She also recommended other products I may be interested in, but not in a “pushy” way, that would make a person uncomfortable. I would give this company, and it’s products a try- which I’m going to do again, just based on their great CS!

Surprised by compliments!
I began using Tru-Skin Vit C serum several years ago. It is no lie when I tell you I get compliments on the skin of my face. And I’m no young ‘un! I’m mid 60’s and I don’t wear concealer or foundation. A family member told me I needed to remove my makeup before heading in to spray tan for an event. I told her I wasn’t wearing any… later, she asked what I used for such even skin tone. A year later, the makeup artist hired for a wedding told me I needed to wash off my makeup before she applied the new makeup. Again, I wasn’t wearing any. She commented on the lack of age spots AND she said I didn’t need concealer under my eyes – I didn’t have any dark circles. I had never paid attention to those things, but later I took a long hard look and saw she was right! No dark circles, no age spots and overall, my skin had an even tone. It still does – and I haven’t gotten any younger.

Serum didn’t work for my skin but AMAZING customer support
Unfortunately this serum did not work with my skin at all. For reference I have combination dry skin, which is naturally clear (though I do get eczema outbreaks occasionally). After less than a week of use it made my skin, especially on my forehead, rough and extremely bumpy. This was the only addition I added to my skin care routine.I reached out to the seller letting her know it didn’t work for my skin and I was going to return it. She responded right away with the full ingredient list because she thought I could potentially be allergic/sensitive to an ingredient or perhaps I was sensitive to the vitamin c strength. She even worked with me to get a full refund on the product and apologized the serum didn’t work out for me!If you have sensitive skin I highly recommend doing a patch test/slowly incorporate the serum into your routine. But if it doesn’t work out for you, the seller has your best interest in mind and will be happy to help you!

Its lightweight and feels good on. No smell and has a creamy color. There is a tight feeling after it dries but follow up with your moisturizer. It has been over a month since I made this purchase, and so far, I love it. For sure I apply it daily (b4 moisturizer) if not twice when I’m not lazy. Your skin feels soft, and the product has no scent which is a big plus for me. I’ve noticed that my face has a healthy-looking glow, radiant. I have received compliments and of course I mentioned the supplier. I bought this product for the solemn purpose of the dark spots that have gotten darker. And so far, the spots have brightened maybe 20-30% but we are not getting any younger or do I plan to move out of sunny SO. CALIF, but only time will tell. True Skin has continuous customer for life.

Was a great product the first time but …
I’ve bought this facial serum 3 times now. The first time I got this is it was unbelievable! It removed spots on my face and made my skin feel good, I was shocked and happy and thought I found the best facial product ever. When it ran out I bought another bottle and it did nothing. I thought maybe I should take a break from using this daily so I stopped it for 1.5 years and just now bought my 3rd bottle and am trying it again. On week 3 now of using this with no real positive effects yet. So to summarize, my experience has been: great at first but no benefit after that initial try.

I have included this product as part of my daily face routine. I’m 77 years old and live in a dry climate. I put it on first before the moisturizer and sunscreen. I don’t use makeup anymore. I find it has cleared my face of blemishes, spots and small wrinkles. It’s not moisturizing so I do use a moisturizer after applying it. I’m using it only once a day (in the morning). It would probably be even better if I used it at night too but I have to count my pennies. I was pleasantly surprised when I started using it in that it worked for me and made my skin smoother and clearer. I recommend this product for us older ladies.

I have to ask where all of the positive reviews have come from? I have been applying this under my eyes and it makes the skin feel tight and uncomfortable. I have not noticed any difference in the shadowing, lines, coloration of my skin. Will likely throw this away and only use items from my dermatologist in the future. Some things are worth the money and some things are not.Update – I am updating this because the company contacted me and asked if they could be of assistance. They ended up sending a different product free of charge which really makes the skin under my eyes feel soft. The customer service was terrific.

This serum actually diminished the small dark discolorations on my face. Sun damage. And, my face had an even , more smooth and glowy look after a month or so. I use it everyday now for the past year. I now also use toner first, niacidimide, moisturizer with HA and ceramides, and tinted SPF moisturizer. Tretinoin at night.. the holiest of grails for fine lines and smoothened skin!

Okay so I have been using this product now for about 4 days and honest to God I already see a difference in my face. I have seen a few dermatologists and asked them for an anti-aging skin care regimen (I am 24 years old). However, there advice was always basic and they just told me to use tretinoine cream for now and sunscreen. After doing my own research on the internet I found there is a lot more I could be doing to protect my skin. I also suffer from pimples here and there sometimes. So the last dermatologist I saw also recommended I use gly/sal 5-2 pads.I’ve listed below my old skincare routine to my new one. I feel strongly about taking great care of my skin and feel I have come up with a great solid routine after searching so long scouring the internet for adcvice. Hopefully this helps any of you that are also struggling with a routine. (I found all these products on Amazon by the way). I truly feel my skin looks amazing and has a glow to it now that it didn’t have before. I do think TruSkin vitamin C serum is playing a major role in that. Based of my research it has so many good ingredients in it that are perfect for anti-aging and protection. All the other new products are part of my updated skin routine that I recently purchased and so far I’ve liked them all.If you suffer from any time of acne or hormonal breakouts use the gly-sal 5-2 pads or even the stronger ones. They have helped keep my face clear so far! <3Old morning routine:1.) cleanse face with Cerave foaming cleanser (perfect for sensitive skin)2.) Tone face with Witch hazel toner3.) Moisturize face with Cerave facial moisturizing lotion spf 304.) Sunscreen for face (Pacifica)Old night time routine:1.) Cleanse Face2.) Apply tretinoineNew morning routine:1.) Cleanse face (Cerave foaming cleanser)2.) Use a gly-sal 5-2 pad on areas of face that tend to breakout (I cut the pads in half to use it in the evening too)3.) After about a minute or two I use the TruSkin vitamin C serum on my face and neck4.) After a minute I use Pure Biology Premium Total Eye Cream Serum around my eyes5.) I let that sit for a minute or two and then apply Supergoop! Anti-aging eye cream spf 376.) Finish off with Cerave facial moisturizing lotion spf 307.) After I will also apply Neutrogena Sheer Zinc Face sunscreen spf 50 (this sunscreen has 21.6% zinc oxide) which is the most important ingredient in sunscreen. This protects 100% against UVA and UVB rays. I will reapply this throughout the day before I go outside or any car drives longer than 15 minutesNew night time routine:1.) Cleanse face (Cerave foaming cleanser)2.) Apply the other half gly-sal 5-2 pad3.) After a min or two apply a pea sized amount of Tretinoine4.) Apply Pure Biology Total Eye Cream Serum around my eyes (pea size is enough for both eyes)5.) Apply Besito advanced neck cream6.) I make sure to wait 15 minutes before apply my night time moisturizer (Cerave night renewing cream) this gives the Tretinoine time to settle in.

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!
PLEASE READ PRIOR TO PURCHASING!I was looking for a natural product, that would not only help the condition of my skin, but also make it feel more healthy as well. I have a very rare, very serious diseases for which I have to have chemotherapy regularly, and I take many, many medications . I’m a 31 year old, who REALLY hadn’t started putting too much effort into skincare up until recently. I already have the Vitamin C moisturizer and love it, so I decided to try the serum, along with the eye gel Truskin offers (I think it’s referred to as Super Eye Cream Gel, and it’s amazing as well; my under eye area is so smooth and my dark circls have lightened so much, in only about a months time…. And the results began immediately!).Both products feel amazing on application and absorb quickly, and fully(no problems with makeup application after use!). Well, my skin did a “purge,” I believe, which is apparently quite common when you begin any new skin care regimen, and I do already get cystic acne right before and during my monthly cycle around my chin, but I thought I’d email the company and just ask if possibly I’d chosen the wrong product for my partular skin type. I gave a little description of what my skin was doing, along with a little background information about myself to give them a better idea so they could advise me better, and I asked if maybe the tea tree serum would be more appropriate since I had the acne.What I’ve received from Erica in return was so unexpected and so kind; the definition of above and beyond. Before anything else, her first instinct was to have me ensure with my doctor that these ingredients were ok for me to use with my treatment. It was something I hadn’t even considered, and on top of that it no was a complete shock; a wonderful person, who was much more concerned about me as an individual, rather than making a sale! As I’m sure you all know, that’s rare these days! I checked with my doctor and my care team, and got back with her to let her know they didn’t see anything wrong with me using the products… Infact they said they would highly recommend them because of how natural the products are! And though the company did NOTHING wrong, and I myself had mostly likely just chosen the wrong product for my individual skin type (or who knows; I’m still entertaining the idea of using both, alternating days maybe!), Erica then offered me a complementary bottle if the tea tree super serum (which was more expensive than this product…and again, they had no mistake to rectify!). They had done nothing wrong; she was just that kind, and wanted me to be able to try it! What a kind, honest and caring company! And thus far, ALL of the products are so amazing, and I hope to soon collect the entire line! I truly could not say enough good things about the products themselves, along with the unbelievably honest and caring customer service I have received. Definitely purchase this product!!Note; I’ve seen another brand on Amazon being advertised, sometimes alongside Truskin naturals’ products, having very similar packaging and very similar names and claims. I didn’t discuss this with Erica, but I have noticed it and i did mention it when discussing with my care team to make sure they were reviewing the correct products, and they were in agreement with me; that whatever those products are…. They are NOT the same as TruSkin products and do not appear to be as safe, natural, or of high quality like these. So please make sure you don’t add a knock off look alike to your cart (and this is not something I’ve been paid to do or even asked to do…. This is coming straight from my heart and the wonderful, touching experience I’ve had with this company!).

I like this serum, it feels good on the face and absorbs quickly, what I don’t like is that it doesn’t tell you what percentage of vit C is in it. I can’t speak to skin improvement/brightness of this particular serum because I’ve been using other vit C serums for 6 months, so the improvement in my skin brightness is already there and I continue to use for maintenance. To note I have VERY sensitive skin and rosacea, so anytime I get a pimple or a bump the red mark lasts for MONTHS, however since I’ve been using vit c serum this isn’t the case, when the occasional pimple or other random red bump pops up as soon as the bump is gone so is the red mark!

Makes a difference in your skin!
I’ve been using this for months and it’s great! I usually wash my face and (while it’s still damp) apply three or so drops to face and neck. The serum itself made a huge difference in my skin (and reduces wrinkles)!The one issue I had was with the seller. I ordered the 2oz version (and paid over $10 for shipping alone) and received a 1oz. I had to contact amazon so that the seller would agree to send another 1oz bottle (for the total of 2oz) and had to keep nagging the seller for over 3 weeks before they actually sent it. They sent it with another different bottle (maybe as a sorry for the wait) but by then Amazon had already processed a refund.I would recommend this product, but maybe get it from another seller or a store near you.

I’m hoping to see results in a week or two…
Nice packaging and arrived promptly. I’ve been using only 3 days now and my skin feels super soft and smooth. I don’t notice a difference in appearance just yet but am hoping it will help tone down the redness in my face (Irish/Scots). I will post again after 2 weeks.

Too thin for my liking
I will say that I think the serum does “work.” I’ve noticed some brightness in my skin but then again that could be because it was winter and less sun.My big issue with this is how thin it is. It dissolves into your skin very quickly and you have to use a lot sometimes to feel like you’re getting a good coverage. Most serums I used before have a gel-like ness to them that feels like you’re really getting the coverage. Often I feel like most if it melts into my hands before it gets to my face. Even applying it directly to my face doesn’t help.This is also quite annoying cause it’s only 1 fl. oz so you end up going through it very quickly and it gets quite expensive. I suggest past on this one. I’m using the Derma-E now and that at least has better coverage.

VERY INTERESTING PRODUCT
We purchased the TruSkin Vitamin C Serum for Face for a relative of ours (over age 65) who has not taken care of his facial skin for probably forever and as a result (at least partly as a result one presumes) he’s got a whopping case of Rosacea.His face resembles a red tomato. He’s tried all sorts of stuff to bring the redness down with not much luck. We read in the Amazon reviews of this product there was a woman who said she had good luck in using it to “cure” her Rosacea issue. I doubt it “cured” that issue it but suspect it went a long way to getting it under control.So our friend starts using this product as directed on his face twice per day, morning and night (followed by a Vitamin C based re hydrating lotion) and I’ll be damned but within 2 days the redness on his face had been reduced by maybe 75 to 80% or so.Pretty amazing. Equally interesting, his facial color seems to have “smoothed out” for lack of a better phrase. The facial color, sans a whole bunch of redness was much more evenly spread out on his face as opposed to before where all the red blotches were uneven in color and in their location on his face.He is a believer now and will probably be using this stuff on his face until he goes off to meet Jesus. Anyways, I consider that a hell of a success story for $20 bucks and using just a few drops morning and night.

Not moisturizing
I’ve used this for about 2 months now and my face has never looked better! Without a doubt, I will keep using this. This product says it has hylaronic acid… but I don’t feel it in there. It doesn’t help my skin as much as it’s still dry a little bit. But, that could be because I use retinol every night. So I would probably have to buy hylaronic acid from ordinary and add that before this vitamin c product.

Improved texture

Didn’t work for my Skin
Unfortunately it wasn’t for me. I was looking for a product to help brighten my skin (especially under my eyes) and after doing a lot of reading on the benefits of Vitamin C I came across this and liked that it had the hyaluronic acid as well. The consistency threw me off a bit because it was more cloudy that the oils I’m used to, but I saw that there is aloe Vera in the ingredients so it being cloudy made sense. I tried using the serum on both dry and damp skin, but the results were the same: my skin started breaking out and it felt dry. The directions mentioned it takes time (maybe 6-8 months) so I tried just using it under my eyes. The results were the same though rand the puffiness was more noticeable. Unfortunately Ive decided not to use it the recommended amount of time because I’m self-conscious of the breakouts. Still giving 4/6 stars though because the pdf they sent with the directions was super helpful and the product came on time and as described . (Plus, I have sensitive skin so it’s always a risk when when experimenting with new products.)

A lot of people say this doesn’t do anything for the skin, but I have to disagree for me I paired this up with a toner and my face never looked better. It was super light weight and didn’t feel like it was just sitting on my skin. I be bought this several times and I highly suggest you pick it up if you wanna try it out. Edited: I had not opted for a refund since I did use the product even though it did not have visible effects on me. But I was approached by the customer service the day after i posted my review mentioning that they have started processing my refund as I was not happy with their product (and they stick by their 100% customer satisfaction moto). They even offered me with a complementary bottle that will better suite my skin type. The customer service even followed up to check if the refund was successful and if I was still interested in a complementary product. I still give 4 stars since the original product didnt work for me. But you can always try, if the product doesnt work for you you can always return it and opt for another brand.Original: Did not see any difference in my skin. it did not make my skin brighter, fresher looking skin, improved tone and clarity, smaller pores, less breakouts, fine lines and dark spots like it mentions. I wanted to give it a fair shot and use it over a period of time to look for better results and not be biased. its been over 1&1/2 months. I don’t see any difference at all. The only good thing is that the product does not have a horrible smell like some skin care products and it does not cause any reaction. But it genuinely did not lessen my breakouts or even help my pores. It is not necessary
